Tucker Carlson accuses Biden administration of attempting to kill Putin

Tucker Carlson has accused the former Biden administration of trying to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Carlson issued the bombshell accusation during the latest episode of his independent show/podcast.

“[Former Secretary of State] Tony Blinken was pushing so hard for a real war, trying to kill Putin, for example — which the Biden administration did, they tried to kill Putin,” he said.

“Really?” his guest, reporter Matt Taibbi, then asked.

“‘Yes,” Carlson replied. “Yes, they did. Which is insane. If like [Putin was assassinated]… okay, so who takes over Russia? And what happens to the nuclear arsenal in a country that’s, like, so complex outsiders can’t even understand? That’s demented that you would even think of something like that. So why were they? Because chaos is a screen that protects them.”

While Carlson offered no concrete evidence to justify his assertion, what he said did immediately pique the interest of commentators in Russia.

“The Biden administration planned to kill Putin — that’s what Tucker Carlson says,” commentator Sergei Mardan said, according to the Daily Mail. “According to him, this was insisted on by former Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who, according to Carlson, essentially concentrated control of the administration in his hands under the feeble president. It is very likely that this was the case.”

“Blinken has always been a particularly stubborn person who is, in principle, ready to fight not only to the last [Ukrainian] but also to the penultimate American. Ahead of us awaits many more terrible revelations about the activities of the previous US administration and the decision-making mechanisms in the White House under Biden,” he added.

All this comes about exactly a year after Carlson interviewed Putin in February of last year. Putin in the interview suggested the U.S. government is secretly controlled by the CIA.

This also comes just a month after Carlson interviewed Putin’s long-serving foreign minister Sergei Lavrov. During the interview, Lavrov vowed continued attacks on Ukraine so long as Western officials continued supporting Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s regime.

He added that while Russia doesn’t want a war with the U.S., it will nevertheless use “all means” to defend its interests. He also argued that the Biden administration’s decision to authorize Ukraine to use American missiles for strikes on Russian territory was a dangerous escalation.

“It is obvious that the Ukrainians would not be able to do what they’re doing with long-range modern weapons without direct participation of the American servicemen,” he said. “And this is dangerous, no doubt about this.”

He went on to say that Russia’s recent strike on Ukraine with a new hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile is a signal that his country is ready to do anything to achieve its end goals.

“The message which we wanted to send by testing in real action this hypersonic system is that we will be ready to do anything to defend our legitimate interests,” he said.

“Since some people in Washington, London, and Brussels seem not very capable to understand, we will send additional messages if they don’t draw necessary conclusions,” he added.

When asked about President Donald Trump, Lavrov described the president as “a very strong person, a person who wants results, who doesn’t like procrastination on anything.”

However, he dismissed the leftist idea that the president is somehow “pro-Russian.”

“He’s very friendly in discussions but this does not mean that he’s pro-Russian as some people try to present him,” Lavrov said. “The amount of sanctions we received under him was very very big.”

“As Putin said, we have been open all along with contacts, with the current administration… we hope that when Donald Trump is inaugurated we will understand. The ball, as Putin said, is on their side,” he added.
