Tucker Carlson: Democrats ‘know they rule illegitimately,’ seek to disarm Americans before ‘they rise up’

In the wake of multiple mass shootings, Tucker Carlson says Democratic lawmakers are “decriminalizing serious crimes” while attempting to disarm law-abiding Americans because they “know they rule illegitimately” and they are “very concerned” the population will “rise up” against their failed policies.

Citing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s announcement on Monday of a proposed nationwide ban on the sale, transfer, and importation of handguns, Carlson told Fox News viewers that Democrats are seizing upon the Uvalde massacre and, like the Canadian leader, are using the violent actions of a mentally-disturbed teenager to push through various infringements on the 2nd Amendment.

“Joe Biden just announced that nine-millimeter ammunition is, quote, ‘high-caliber’ — which makes anyone who understands guns laugh — and should therefore be banned,” the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” host said. “Nine-millimeter, the single most common pistol round sold in the United States by far should be banned, says Joe Biden.”

“In New York, the unelected governor, Kathy Hochul, just announced legislation to, quote, ‘Eliminate the grandfathering of large-capacity ammunition heating devices,'” he continued. “That means your legal magazine is now illegal. Possessing it is now a crime. It wasn’t yesterday. It is today. That is the word from the unelected governor of New York because that is democracy.”

“She also plans to create a licensing requirement for all semiautomatic weapons,” he added. “That is not just the scary-looking ones you see on TV — that is all semiautomatic weapons, including your deer rifle.”

Meanwhile, said Carlson, “our leaders are busy decriminalizing serious crimes. Ones that actually hurt you.”

The controversial host cited a report from the Seattle Times revealing an April internal memo from a Seattle police sergeant to interim police Chief Adrian Diaz, in which Sgt. Pamela St. John explains that they have been forced to stop assigning detectives to rape cases in which the victims are adults due to understaffing — a result of the city’s woke push to defund its police department following the death of George Floyd in 2020.

“The community expects our agency to respond to reports of sexual violence,” St. John wrote, “and at current staffing levels that objective is unattainable.”

“That is rape victims,” Carlson stated. “They will have to do without.”

 

According to Carlson, it’s proof the progressives in charge aren’t actually worried about public health or safety.

“So, if any of the people in charge wanted this to be a safer country, they wouldn’t have caused the current crime wave in the first place,” Carlson said. “They would not have defunded police. They wouldn’t be encouraging open-air drug market markets in our cities. They wouldn’t be sending crack pipes to addicts.

“But they’re not worried about the public health,” he continued. “At all. What they are worried about is public resistance to their policies.”

“Disarming the population ends that resistance,” the host stated. “They’re very concerned, because they know they rule illegitimately, that the population will rise up.”

“That probably has not occurred to you,” Carlson said. “It’s definitely occurred to them. And it has occurred to the corporate media they control, whose job it is to push their power grabs. And they would very much like a Canada/China style gun ban in this country.”
