Tucker Carlson speaks publicly for the first time since Fox News ouster

A “gleeful” Tucker Carlson was spotted outside his $5.5 million beach home in Boca Grande, Florida on Tuesday night by the Daily Mail and his remarks to the British tabloid were his first public words since he and Fox News went their separate ways.

Conservative commentator Jack Posobiec shared a Daily Mail photo of Carlson and his wife, Susan, on Twitter. The couple was smiling while photographed in a golf cart. The article suggested that they were “enjoying a romantic date.”

“Retirement is going great so far,” a seemingly carefree Carlson said. “I haven’t eaten dinner with my wife on a weeknight in seven years.”

As for what the future holds, when pressed on what comes next, the Daily Mail said Carlson “flashed a broad smile” before saying, “Appetizers plus entree.”

The possibilities awaiting Carlson are endless, so he will have plenty of options.

On Tuesday, Fox News host Greg Gutfeld cracked a joke about Carlson running for president and the Tucker Carlson for President talk included commentary from talk radio host Hugh Hewitt, Christopher Rufo, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, and Pedro Gonzalez, politics editor for Chronicles Magazine.

Glenn Beck, a former Fox News host himself, personally extended an invite to Carlson to join him at The Blaze, and the Heritage Foundation also assured him that he has a home there.

Another former Fox News host, Megyn Kelly, who now has a highly successful podcast, assured Carlson that he was better off without corporate oversight.

“This is a terrible move by Fox, and it’s a great thing for Tucker Carlson,” she said, suggesting that the cable television format is becoming a dinosaur in today’s digital age.

On that note, there is also a report that One America News Network (OANN) has offered Carlson $25 million, though it’s not certain that he would entertain that offer given the network’s limited footprint.

Here are but a few samplings of the responses to the story from Twitter that suggests Tucker Carlson might weather the storm just fine:
