Dubbing himself “the Rudy of Twitter,” social media star Catturd sat down with Tucker Carlson to discuss the former president, the woke and everything in between.
Since leaving Fox News and launching his own media enterprise, the former king of primetime cable news has sat with world leaders and prominent voices in movements that matter. Monday, he premiered the first video interview with the anonymous man behind the Catturd account whose story readily related to many on the right.
“Meet the man who made Adam Kinzinger cry. Catturd in the flesh,” Carlson captioned the nearly 45-minute discussion that kicked off with a recap of meme escalation brought on by then-Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger’s unhinged response to some online mockery.

“I never thought I’d have 100 followers,” said the user of the account now boasting over 2.2 million who went on to add, “It just got legs somehow and it took off.”
The success of his social media activity left him likening himself to the story of Rudy Ruettiger, which inspired the 1993 film “Rudy” as he told Carlson, “I’m kinda like the Rudy of Twitter. I probably don’t deserve to be there. But I’ve worked hard enough to maybe get that one play at the end of the game.”
Throughout the conversation on “The Tucker Carlson Encounter,” the nearly-60-year-old Catturd detailed his basic life story from military enlistment, to homeless hippie, musician and contractor who, when the 90s arrived, tuned into the legend responsible for conservative talk radio, Rush Limbaugh.
“I started listening to Rush Limbaugh…I thought I was a liberal. I didn’t know what I was, still. I was like this guy is saying everything I believe,” he explained.
Before covering his 13 rescue pets, Carlson returned to Kinzinger’s beef with Catturd which featured the then-congressman reacting to mockery as a drawing depicted a person crying and wetting themselves with the fluids pooling to portray the flag of Ukraine. “Literal evil. If I met you in person it would not end well…for you. Sicko. Trolls who have never done a thing in their life pretend to be patriots and laugh at real warriors.”
Catturd snarked over what could happen if they were to meet in person, “I wanna see eye-to-eye with him. So I’m gonna go get a Home Depot five gallon bucket so he can stand on it.
On the outlook of the nation, he expressed, “We’re in trouble. I always try to be positive, but sometimes I can’t see a way out of it…and I’m a Trump supporter. I’m a Trump guy.”
Specifically, Catturd spoke to the willingness of those on the left to go along with whatever narrative was fed to them as he lamented, “If you can convince your voters that men can have babies — think about that — you’ve got ’em.”
He went on to note that their disdain for former President Donald Trump only bolstered his prominence and asserted, “I hate to tell you libs this but, because of you, in a hundred years they’re not gonna be talking about me or even you, they’re gonna be talking about Trump in 100 years. He’s gonna be one of the biggest figures in the history of our country.”
Following the release of the interview which, had surpassed five million views on X in half a days time, Catturd posted a message of gratitude. “Thank you to everyone who supports me. I was nervous AF when I was interviewed by Tucker. Put yourself in my shoes — I’ve never done a video interview in my life, and I was suddenly doing an interview, for an hour, with the number one interviewer in the world…So nerve-racking.”
“[By the way] — Tucker was one of the most easy-going, down to earth dudes you’d ever wanna meet,” he said. “His entire staff was unbelievable. Great people.”
Thank you to everyone who supports me. I was nervous AF when I was interviewed by Tucker. Put yourself in my shoes – I’ve never done a video interview in my life, and I was suddenly doing an interview, for an hour, with the number one interviewer in the world. So…
