By all outward appearances, Tucker Carlson expected to be back on-air Monday, telling his viewers on Friday’s show that he’d see them then. On Monday, before the bombshell announcement dropped that Carlson was out, Fox News reportedly promoted an interview Carlson did with GOP presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy that was supposed to air that evening.
And now that Carlson is out, when looking back at Friday’s final segment it’s hard to imagine going out in a better manner than he did.
The final guest on Tucker Carlson Tonight was “pizza hero” Tyler Morell, the pizza delivery driver from Coco’s Pizza in Delaware County, Pennsylvania — Morell stymied a suspected carjacker’s getaway when he tripped the fleeing suspect while holding an order of pies, allowing police to take the man into custody.

In the segment, Morell walks on set with an order of pizzas and lays them out on the desk, including Tucker’s order of sausage and pineapples. Carlson digs in and starts working on a slice while ridiculing the choice, explaining that he was once a pizza delivery driver himself. Morell agreed with his assessment and got a big laugh out of Carlson when he called the combination “criminal.”
“It’s so good it’s unbelievable,” he said, while chowing down, adding later, “You’re right, it is a disgusting order, but I have no shame.”
After establishing that Morell was there with his family, Carlson vowed to go meet with them “after I get done stuffing myself.”
“We just thought what a great way to end the week,” he said in wrapping it up. “Employee of the Week — we’re just going to make it Employee of the Year, Tyler Morell, Coco’s Pizza.”
“That’s it for us for the week; we’ll be back,” Carlson said to close out his final show, before promoting his Fox Nation show, Let them eat bugs. “We’ll be back on Monday. In the meantime, have the best weekend with the ones that you love, and we’ll see you then.”
