Those who struggle with The Science™ also exhibit a tendency to struggle with The Grammar™ and a lack of reading comprehension was just one of the many short fuses ignited by Elon Musk’s latest tweet on the one thing that “will induce meaningful climate change.”
As CEO of the most recognizable brand in electric vehicle manufacturing, Tesla, the billionaire owner of Twitter has remained fairly consistent when it comes to his position shifting away from fossil fuels towards alternative energy sources.
Late Saturday, Green ideologues fumed as the entrepreneur commented on a quote attributed to him that stated, “As long as there is not something that is causing an error in the pricing system, as there is because of the unpriced externality which is the CO2 capacity of the oceans and atmosphere, the market system works very well.”
“Important to note,” Musk replied, “that what happens on Earth’s surface (eg farming) has no meaningful impact on climate change. Overwhelmingly, the risk of climate change is due to moving billions of tons of carbon from deep underground into the atmosphere. Over time, if we keep doing this, the chemical makeup of our atmosphere will change enough to induce meaningful climate change.”

Now, regardless of the opinions of the Chuck Todd’s of the world who declare, “The science is settled, even if political opinion is not,” as they refuse to listen to anyone who doesn’t fall in lockstep with their worldview, the largest disparity in the climate change discussion is not over existence, it is to what extent.
That was precisely what Musk was touching on when he replied to the comment he had made during a Feb. 2021 appearance on “The Joe Rogan Experience” where the billionaire had said his number one recommendation to decrease carbon emissions would be a carbon tax.
One Green zealot went as far as to label Musk a “climate denier” as she also slammed his social media platform as the leading purveyor of “disinformation” and later shared a past attack against the entrepreneur that deemed him a racist as well.
“The owner of this website, the largest (dis)information platform on the planet, is a climate denier both in terms of causes and consequences. @elonmusk is a climate denier. Plain and simple. End of,” posted before writing, “Another thing, after a couple of hours…The amount of pushback and abuse I am getting for calling out Musk as a climate science denier is NOTHING compared to what I got for calling him out as racist. Nothing. Both are true, though …”
She wasn’t alone as another representative of academia tacked on to her post with his own failed understanding of the qualifier “meaningful” and wrote, “Elon Musk is not a scientist. If he was he would know that simply planting trees (which does take place on Earth’s surface) does affect climate and climate change. So does driving cars and, yes, farming. Livestock farming is demonstrably influencing climate change.”

Further outrage was marked Musk as “displaying his cluelessness” and uncaring with one person asserting, “I think it’s increasingly obvious that (a) Musk never cared that much about climate and (b) simply isn’t smart enough to grasp the absolute basics of the problem, at least not beyond what he needs to repeat to increase profit for his businesses.”

The more the ideologues weighed in, the more apparent it became that their true gripe is with capitalism and, as with all good Marxists, they hope to seize the means of production.
It’s about them wanting complete control of the oil themselves as well.

Some perspective:
CO2 makes up 0.04% of the atmosphere currently (25 times less than 1%).
Humans contribute just 3% of that. 3% of 0.04% is 0.0012% (833 times less than 1%).
Which means that, if we stopped human carbon emissions completely, it would make 833 times less than 1%… pic.twitter.com/at4NAuUc6s

0.04% Co2, plant life dies at 0.02%. Of that 0.04% “man made” “climate change” globally is 3%. So exactly what is net zero for? I have 3 words, money, control, power.
