President Donald Trump went to great lengths to attend a scheduled rally in Oklahoma when inclement weather ruled out air travel, opting for a high-speed motorcade to cover the roughly 85-mile trip — Trump attended an event at a Peterbilt truck factory in Denton, Texas, earlier in the day.
Once in Oklahoma, the president brought two supporters up on stage at the Choctaw Event Center in Durant, showcasing why he is beloved by so many Americans. The men were interviewed earlier by local TV while waiting in line to see Trump.
“You work harder than any American I know,” one of the men said, after Trump invited him to address the crowd.
“Absolute honor of a lifetime to be with the greatest president that this country has ever had,” the other man chimed in.

Oklahomans waited in long lines in the rain to see President Trump, who was nearly two hours late because of the impromptu motorcade — The Beast reportedly approached speeds of 98 to 100 mph at times.
“This was not an easy trip,” he told the dedicated crowd.
“They said, sir, I think we’re going to have to cancel Oklahoma, the weather is terrible,” Trump explained. “You can’t take the helicopter, sir. You can’t take the plane. I said, what can it take?”
“Well, it’s a very long drive,” he said of the response he got. “I said, how long? They said, it could be long, sir. I said, how fast does the beast travel? They said, we can go close to a hundred miles per hour. I said, get your asses in the car, we’re going to Oklahoma!”

Trump assured rallygoers beforehand in a Truth Social post that he was on his way.
“To the Great People of Oklahoma, stay tuned — I’ll be there soon! There was a major weather delay, and the planes and helicopters were not able to land, so we’re driving up from Texas. They wanted me to postpone the event, and I said, ‘NO WAY, I’M GOING TO OKLAHOMA!’ ‘The Beast’is going faster than it has ever gone before. It won’t be long. I love you all! See you in a little while.”
The president returned to Washington in the wee hours of the morning, and he has another rally scheduled for Friday evening in Alabama. At the age of 80, his energy level is truly remarkable as we approach the midterm elections.
