U.S. Air Force runs ‘Pride’ flag up the pole and salutes

The Pentagon and all branches of the US military have gone all-in for Pride Month again this year, but the Air Force really seems gung-ho over it, posting social media graphics that show an airman apparently saluting the Pride flag.

Despite Nellis Air Force Base canceling a family-friendly drag show by order of the Pentagon, the Air Force has not backed down one inch on its devotion to Pride Month.

This has been going on for years with the Air Force, making it all but unrecognizable to those who proudly served in that branch of the military. Last year, the Air Force joined forces with the Biden administration to celebrate a Transgender Day of Awareness as well.

Last year’s social media posting for Pride Month showed Air Force recruits training but openly omitted the American flag. Then there is this year’s post which uses clip art showing an airman who appears to be saluting the Pride flag.

Conservatives do not believe that branches of the military should be making political statements and they also contend taxpayers’ dollars should not go toward such overt displays of leftist ideology.

In May, Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) nailed the Air Force for promoting and pushing LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

A May 3 memo given to Fox News shows that the Air Force approved the observance of Pride Month in June and gave permission to installation commanders to “plan and conduct appropriate activities in honor of Pride Month.” Roy’s office noted a flyer advertising Pride Month events at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia, including a “Pride Game Night” on June 10, a Unity in Diversity Color Run on June 16, and a panel discussion titled “Our History, Our time!” on June 28th.

“Each June, the Department of the Air Force recognizes Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month. During this time, we celebrate the progress we have made towards inclusivity, commemorate the contributions of LGBTQ+ Americans, and recognize the obstacles they have faced and overcome along the way,” the memo states.

“This is a time to reaffirm our commitment to equality and reinforce the importance of a cohesive and diverse Total Force. One Team; One Fight,” Assistant Secretary of the Air Force Alex Wagner and Diversity and Inclusion Director Marianne P. Malizia contended in the memo.

“Our people are our strategic advantage,” the memo added. “During Pride Month — and every month — the DAF will continue our efforts to remove barriers to service while advancing a respectful and inclusive culture, so our team can apply their talents to their mission and stay focused on the defense of our Nation. Our Airmen, Guardians, and their families deserve no less than to work and thrive in an environment worthy of their service and sacrifice.”

Roy was incensed by the Air Force’s support of the agenda and savaged the Defense Department for encouraging pro-LGBTQ+ events with taxpayer dollars.

“What’s next, rainbow uniforms during pride month?” he railed according to Fox News. “The Air Force and Defense Department sanctions this ridiculous use of taxpayer dollars and then expects members of Congress who represent Americans who are livid about this stuff to green light an $800 billion-plus DOD budget. If DOD doesn’t put a stop to these kinds of divisive – and frankly embarrassing – DOD events, Republicans should pull support for this year’s [National Defense Authorization Act].”

Users on Twitter were outraged and deeply offended by the Air Force’s graphic depicting an airman appearing to salute the Pride flag:
