Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy’s interaction Monday night with President Joe Biden took the internet by storm after the crotchety 79-year-old president called the reporter a “stupid son of a b*tch” for asking him about inflation impacting the midterms.

Biden is known to snap at reporters from time to time, but his mean-spirited response to Doocy suggests a special level of contempt for the Fox News reporter who commendably took it all in stride afterwards, laughing the incident off during an appearance on “The Five.”

Asked if there was an Oval Office interview coming in the near future in an attempt to make up for the slight, Doocy replied with a smile, “No. no. I don’t think that’s coming.”

He explained what was “crazy” about the whole thing was that another reported shouted out a question about Russia at the end of Biden’s meeting with the Competition Council and members of his cabinet Monday and the president replied that he was not going to take any questions “off topic.”

“So I shouted, ‘Okay, what about inflation? Do you think inflation is a political liability in the midterms?’” Doocy said. “I couldn’t even hear him because people were shouting at us to get out. But somebody came up to me in the briefing room a few minutes later and said, ‘Did you hear what the president said?’ And I said, ‘No, what?’ They said, ‘He called you stupid SOB.’ And I said, ‘Did he say SOB?’ and the person said, ‘No.’”

The exchange, which hilariously made it into the White House transcripts, began when Doocy asked, “Will you take questions on inflation then? Do you think inflation will be a political liability ahead of the midterms?”

As Doocy and the other reporters were being aggressively shoved out of the room, Biden mumbled, “That’s a great asset, more inflation. What a stupid son of a b*tch.”

Co-host Jesse Watters got a good laugh out of the incident as he quipped, “So Doocy, I think the president’s right, you are a stupid SOB.”

“Yeah, nobody has fact-checked him yet and said it’s not true,” Doocy deadpanned, breaking up show’s entire crew and prompting Watters to chime in, “No one’s giving ‘Pinocchios’ for that one.”

“Everyone’s talking about you, you’re going to be known as the ‘stupid SOB’ guy,” Watters added. “Before you were known as the ‘hair guy,’ with the blond hair, now your the ‘stupid SOB.’ Id this something you’re embracing?”

“Do I have a choice!” Doocy astutely replied.

Co-host Dana Perino interjected to suggest that Doocy many now have the title of a future book he may right, courtesy of President Biden.

Appearing later on “Hannity,” Doocy said the president reached out to him “within about an hour of that exchange.”

“He said ‘It’s nothing personal, pal,'” he said. “And we went back and forth, and we were talking about just kind of moving forward, and I made sure to tell him that I’m always gonna try to ask something different than what everybody else is asking. And he said, ‘You got to.’ And that’s a quote from the president, so I’ll keep doing it.”

Asked if Biden apologized, Doocy responded, “He cleared the air and I appreciate it. We had a nice call.”

“That’s not an answer,” host Sean Hannity said with a chuckle. “That doesn’t sound like an apology.”

“He said ‘It’s nothing personal, pal.’ And I told him that I appreciate him reaching out,” Doocy replied. “Hey Sean, the world is on the brink of, like, World War III right now with all of this stuff going on. I appreciate that the president took a couple of minutes out this evening while he was still at this desk to give me a call and clear the air.”

“I don’t need anybody to apologize to me. He can call me whatever he wants as long as it gets him talking!” he added. “I think that’s enough. That’s enough. So we can move on. We can now move forward. There will be years- three to seven years of opportunities to ask him about different stuff.”

What’s not so funny about the incident is the fact that Biden denounced former President Donald Trump for bullying the media while running for president, as Joe Concha, media reporter for The Hill, reminded folks.

Biden preached decency and civility when he took office, promising the nation a peaceful, unified future.

“But I’m not joking when I say this, if you are ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise you I will fire you on the spot,” he said in January 2021.
