Billionaire Elon Musk’s free speech absolutism has not only pit him against corporate media, but against streaming behemoth YouTube as well with his latest move regarding a Dr. Jordan B. Peterson video labeled “hate speech.”
Early Saturday, the Canadian psychologist and author revealed that an episode of his podcast featuring author and journalist Helen Joyce had been banned from YouTube. Their more than two hour long conversation titled “Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality” delved into behaviors common among transgenderists and, lacking a full-throated affirmation of those suffering with gender dysphoria, was treated as “criminal.”
“I have now officially been accused of hate speech by YouTube,” Daily Wire contributor Peterson said with a screenshot of the YouTube notification. “Let’s be clear about this: that is a direct accusation of conduct deemed criminal in many jurisdictions. This is absolutely not OK, @YouTube. Not OK.”
He further stated, “I am also accused as you can all see of ‘inciting violence.’ To say I am tired of being accused in this manner by narcissistic authoritarians is to say almost nothing.”
As the site put it, “Content glorifying or inciting violence against another person or group of people is not allowed on YouTube. We also don’t allow any content that encourages hatred of another person or group of people based on their membership in a protected group.”

Later that morning, Musk encouraged the psychologist to “Upload here. This platform believes in free speech, provided it does not break the law.”

The warning inducing violation left the psychologist one violation away from receiving a strike and before heeding Musk’s repeated invitation Saturday afternoon, Peterson had further opined, “This societal trend could easily end badly. Such accusers are doing nothing but attempting to accrue reputation, at least in their own eyes, without doing any of the valid work that such reputation genuinely requires.”
“It’a a violation of the ancient dictum ‘do not use the Lord’s name in vain’: translation: do not claim moral motivations when acting for narrowly self-serving purposes. That, along with pride, is the cardinal sin of our time,” he asserted.
By Saturday evening, Peterson had heeded the encouragement to post the podcast episode to Twitter and did so with a hint of venom directed at oppositional ideologues as he remarked, “Experience the evil truth yourself!”

Since the video was made available on Twitter, the post had been viewed more than 1.7 million times. The virality of the interview comes roughly a week and a half after the documentary “What is a Woman?” from the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh had been made available in full on the platform, since receiving more than 183 million views.
Days after its premiere on Twitter, Musk fired yet another shot across the bow of transgenderism when he updated his bio to include the “pronouns” “handsome/brilliant.”
