Over 170,000 alien migrants are expected to cross into the U.S. in the hopes of seeking asylum once a Trump-era policy that’d allowed for their instant expulsion is revoked.
It may be hard to believe given all the video footage of illegals crossing into the U.S. via the country’s unsecured border, but up to a million asylum-seeking alien migrants have been expelled by the Biden administration using Title 42, according to Axios.
However, Axios doesn’t specify how many have been granted entry. America First Legal, the law firm formed by former Trump administration official Stephen Miller, has claimed that the administration has released “hundreds of thousands” of alien migrants.
DHS Secretary Mayorkas told reporters this afternoon that Border Patrol agents were reminded that there are individualized exceptions to Title 42 and that those can be applied to Ukrainians who arrive at the southern border.

Published Thursday, Axios’ report continues by noting that once Title 42 is revoked, it won’t be so easy to turn away asylum seekers, and the administration suspects that traffickers will be eager to exploit this to their advantage.
“Internal discussions have raised alarms that human trafficking networks throughout Mexico and Central America will exploit the situation to ‘generate a mass migration event,'” the outlet notes.
The administration is reportedly taking this potential mass-migration event extremely seriously, or so several officials have claimed.
“Top Biden officials representing multiple agencies have been meeting to discuss a whole-of-government plan to deal with the potentially record-breaking spring influx of migrants. DHS has branded it the Southwest Border Mass Irregular Migration Contingency Plan,” according to Axios.
“The plan is sweeping, reflecting how serious the Biden administration believes the situation could soon become, worsening a border surge that has troubled it from the beginning.”
But not everybody believes the administration is truly serious about stopping alien migrants from entering the country. In a press release filed on March 5th regarding an ongoing case involving Texas, America First Legal claimed “hundreds of thousands” of alien migrant children have been exempted from Title 42.
BREAKING: Big Victory. America First Legal & the amazing @KenPaxtonTX have won a Preliminary Injunction BLOCKING Biden’s radical edict categorically exempting illegal minors from Title 42 removal. Biden’s order exempting UACs from removal is now ENJOINED.https://t.co/6lpTUNrChu

“The United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas just issued an order in a case where AFL serves as outside counsel for the State of Texas. Last year, the State of Texas sued the Biden Administration for failing to use Title 42 for all illegal aliens along the southwest border,” the release reads.
“Today’s order temporarily enjoins the Biden Administration’s act of excepting unaccompanied alien minors from Title 42, and largely denies the Biden Administration’s efforts to dismiss the lawsuit filed by Texas. The rest of Texas’s case will continue to the merits stage.”
The court itself ruled that the president “has (arbitrarily) exempted COVID-19 positive unaccompanied alien children from Title 42 procedures” and that this exemption had engendered harm to Texas.
The Biden administration responded to the ruling by announcing it would be moving to revoke/end Title 42, or at least it pertains to children.
“The Biden administration announced late Friday it is ending a Trump-era border deportation policy as it pertains to unaccompanied migrant children in response to a court ruling that could’ve forced officials to expel those minors without an asylum screening,” CBS News reported.
“The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which first authorized the migrant expulsions in March 2020, terminated the government’s ability to expel children who enter U.S. border custody without their parents. U.S. border officials can still use the policy, known as Title 42, to expel single adult migrants and families traveling with children to Mexico or their home countries.”
But there’s more. Another court ruling made last week “said officials could not expel families to places where they could be persecuted or harmed,” according to CBS News.
This unwelcome ruling means immigration officials may have no other recourse but “to interview migrant families to determine whether they have valid asylum claims.”
Because of the logistical nightmare this would engender, suspicion is growing that the Biden administration may just outright cancel title 42 altogether. And indeed, the administration is facing pressure from the far-left to do exactly that:
Congressional Progressive Caucus wants Biden to:
-Expand TPS to more countries
-Remove 1.6 million deportation cases from the immigration courts
-Stop expansion of private prison use
-Immediately end Remain in Mexico and Title 42https://t.co/Oa2cVGxBAT— Hamed Aleaziz (@Haleaziz) March 17, 2022

All this comes as illegal aliens continue to flood the border with not much stopping them:
