Psaki twice refuses to correct her previous lie that Hunter Biden’s laptop story was planted by Russia

With the New York Times reporting Thursday that emails from Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop had been authenticated, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki face just two questions on the matter at the daily briefing — and she dodged them both.

The New York Post broke the story ahead of the November 2020 election and there was a concerted effort to silence the reporting, from Big Tech all but forbidding dissemination of the story — Twitter even locked the Post’s account for two critical weeks — to the corporate media blackballing the bombshell report while countering it with stories claiming that it was Russian disinformation. There was also a letter signed by more than 50 former senior intelligence officials claiming the story “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

Daily Mail reporter Rob Crilly was the first to ask Psaki about Thursday’s development.

“The New York Times has authenticated emails that appear to have come from a laptop abandoned by Hunter Biden in Delaware. The president previously said that the New York Post story about this was a bunch of garbage and that it was a Russian plant. Does he stand by that assessment?” he asked.

Psaki used the excuse that Hunter Biden isn’t a federal employee, saying, “I would point you to the Department of Justice and also to Hunter Biden’s representatives, he doesn’t work in the government.”

RealClearNews reported Philip Wegmann would follow up on that question later by asking Psaki about her own response to the Hunter Biden laptop at the time.

“You were asked about Hunter Biden’s laptop. You also, in October 2020, dismissed it as ‘Russian disinformation.’ Do you stand by that assessment?” he asked.

“Again, I’d point to the Department of Justice and Hunter Biden’s representatives.  I’m a spokesperson for the United States; he doesn’t work for the United States,” she replied.

Never mind that his question was not about HER actions, not Hunter Biden’s.

On Oct. 19, 2020, Psaki fell back on the aforementioned marker laid down by “former senior intelligence officials” to tweet: “Hunter Biden story is Russian disinfo, dozens of former intel officials say.”

And that was all the questioning Psaki faced on the bombshell development, as reporters for the same media outlets that sat on the story initially had little interest in pursuing the topic.
