Solidarity with those protesting in Iran left at least one Los Angeles demonstrator struck as the Islamist regime-supporting driver of a large truck drove through the crowd.

Sunday, in an area of the Westwood neighborhood of the City of Angels locally referred to as Little Tehran, the street was filled with flag-waving revelers showing their support for those who’ve risen in the Middle East against the regime.
Those bearing the traditional Lion and Sun standard, which was replaced as a result of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, had an uprising of their own after a driver opposed to changes in Iran drove a large U-Haul moving truck through the demonstration, injuring at least three people.
In videos circulating on social media, a man could be seen on top of the truck as it drove down the street while rally-goers were either getting out of the way or pursuing the vehicle, which bore banners, including one that read, “No shah. No regime. USA: Don’t repeat 1953. No mullah,” in all capital letters.
According to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), “At approximately 1530 hours, the driver of a U-Haul truck collided with individuals marching along Veteran Avenue in the area of the Federal Building.”
The LAPD confirmed the driver was detained, initially detailing one person who was said to have been struck, “however, no significant injuries have been reported.”

At this time, one person was confirmed struck by the vehicle (an adult male); however, no significant injuries have been reported. A Rescue Ambulance treated the individual at the scene. No one has been transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Reporting for Fox 11 Los Angeles, Matthew Seedorff shared footage from the scene where demonstrators attempted to remove the sign from the truck, as well as the driver, only to watch the man attempt to flee in the vehicle, at which point a pedestrian was struck.
Seedorff’s report indicated that at least three people had been injured, but none were said to have received life-threatening injuries.

Counted among those injured, the police detailed that the driver had sustained injuries following an altercation that took place after the collision.
In recent days, as protesters in Iran have taken control of multiple cities, the regime has reportedly shut down Internet access and begun blaming President Donald Trump for driving the uprising.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in a televised address, “The Islamic Republic came to power through the blood of hundreds of thousands of honourable people. It will not back down in the face of vandals.”
As the protests in Iran entered their third week, the Human Rights Activists News Agency detailed that 544 deaths were confirmed and around 10,700 people had been arrested and moved to prisons.
Aboard Air Force One on Sunday, the president addressed the situation in Iran, where some of the protester deaths have been attributed to being shot by the regime, promising a “determination” would be forthcoming about U.S. involvement.
The commander-in-chief was also asked if Iran takes his threats seriously, to which Trump responded, “Wouldn’t you say that they probably do at this point, after going through it for years with me? Being hit, Soleimani, al-Baghdadi, the Iran nuclear threat wiped out; don’t you think — and then, you just had Venezuela — don’t you think … What a stupid question.”
