Walz melts down over ‘cruel’ Supreme Court ruling on transgender treatments

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has a rather creative take on the Supreme Court’s ruling on transgender athletes.

The hotly contested issue of biological boys competing against girls has finally been settled, as SCOTUS ruled on Tuesday that states are within their rights to ban transgender athletes. This has delighted the likes of Riley Gaines and Olympic gymnast MyKayla Skinner, who have been fighting for women’s rights in athletics.

“A man does not have a legal right to compete against women just because he believes that he is a woman … Men and boys with gender dysphoria are not women or girls, even if they believe that they are. Sex is an immutable ‘biological’ characteristic … To use language to obscure reality—to show ‘indifference regarding the truth’—is to lie to the public and cease to treat our fellow citizens as equals,” Judge Clarence Thomas wrote.

But while those on the right are celebrating, the left is doing quite the opposite. Walz took to X with a complaint that sounds more like embellishment than fact.

“As the Supreme Court says states can be cruel to trans kids, my message is clear: Here in Minnesota, we stand with and value our trans neighbors and youth,” he wrote.

It didn’t take long for people to jump on his post:
