Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has a rather creative take on the Supreme Court’s ruling on transgender athletes.
The hotly contested issue of biological boys competing against girls has finally been settled, as SCOTUS ruled on Tuesday that states are within their rights to ban transgender athletes. This has delighted the likes of Riley Gaines and Olympic gymnast MyKayla Skinner, who have been fighting for women’s rights in athletics.

“A man does not have a legal right to compete against women just because he believes that he is a woman … Men and boys with gender dysphoria are not women or girls, even if they believe that they are. Sex is an immutable ‘biological’ characteristic … To use language to obscure reality—to show ‘indifference regarding the truth’—is to lie to the public and cease to treat our fellow citizens as equals,” Judge Clarence Thomas wrote.
But while those on the right are celebrating, the left is doing quite the opposite. Walz took to X with a complaint that sounds more like embellishment than fact.
Look:
As the Supreme Court says states can be cruel to trans kids, my message is clear:
Here in Minnesota, we stand with and value our trans neighbors and youth.

It didn’t take long for people to jump on his post:
That isn’t what it says. It says girls and women deserve equal protection and opportunity. There is no cruelty anywhere.

Are girls people? Do they count? Why were they expected to step aside so a boy could steal their medals and scholarships? Why were penises allowed in girls showers? Why are girls completely ignored by you? What is wrong with you? pic.twitter.com/d5Jv4AU53S

Why do you hate our daughters, Tim?

No, it didn’t say that. SCOTUS said that designating sports on the basis of Sex in schools is not only lawful, it actually ensures equal protection for all… because everyone has a Sex, and Sex is not Gender. Why would Minnesota advocate for sex-based discrimination against kids?
