WaPo bottom-feeder Jen Rubin draws fire with advice to Dems on moving past Trump shooting

Democrats, which includes much of the media, party registration notwithstanding, are doubling down on the very strategy that led to an atmosphere where a would-be assassin attempted to take the life of former President Donald Trump.

By the grace of God, the shooter only nicked Trump in the ear, but a rallygoer lost his life to an errant bullet and the bottom-scrapers in the media are honoring the death of a church-going husband, father, and former firefighter whose last act on this earth was to use his body to shield his wife and two daughters by blaming the man this hero supported.

Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin is a reliable Democratic mouthpiece and she set the tone on Tuesday in a post on X that runs interference for the media’s 8-plus-year campaign of demonizing and dehumanizing Donald Trump, who has been called a fascist, a dictator, and in some cases, Hitler himself.

President Biden went before the nation after the shooting to talk about dialing back our rhetoric, only to go back the very next day to calling Trump a “threat” to America.

Rubin called on the media to “raise its game” and to defend democracy in her post, but perhaps it’s time for the American people to raise their game and grant no quarter to divisive left-wing propagandists like Rubin, who exploit the weak-minded to drive hatred in America. The next Republican targeted by an assassin may not share Trump’s good fortune.

“One party and one party alone is responsible for the rise in political violence: The horrific nature of the shooting should not stand in the way of the media’s examination of Trump’s role in the degeneration of our political discourse,” Rubin spewed. “They should press him and fellow Republicans to explain (and renounce) talk of televised military tribunals for Jan. 6 committee members and threats to execute the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Trump’s newly announced running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) — who on Saturday made the unsupported accusation the shooting was “not just some isolated event” — should be scrutinized as well.”

Her poisonous venom betrays a fear that Democrats may be held to account for the lawfare they have waged against Trump – a man they have tried everything within their power to destroy, only to see him emerge stronger and more relatable in the end. Trump faced an FBI-assisted soft coup attempt with the Russia collusion hoax, two sham impeachments, and four indictments as a former president, and yet he marches on to a probable win in November.

Rubin’s role is to minimize sympathy Trump may garner having survived an attempted assassination. She laid out a strategy to deflect away from the iconic moment Trump regained his footing and defiantly raised his fist in the air urging his supporters to “fight” those destroying America, doing so with blood from a gunshot wound to his ear running down his face.

Rubin added in a follow-up post, “Put aside the unhelpful, obsessive speculation about how the shooting might affect the election. Instead, focus with renewed intensity on guns, responsibility for political violence, the candidates’ respective policy plans and the deplorable state of our Secret Service. It is time for the media to raise its game and meet a moment of extreme crisis in our democracy.”
