WaPo whines GOP is ‘painting’ far left Dem TX Senate hopeful as a radical

The left-wing media is clutching its pearls over the Republican response to the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in Texas, James Talarico.

The leftist Washington Post joined the symphony of whining about how Republicans are portraying the Presbyterian seminarian and former middle school teacher as a “radical” by reposting his own words in an article headlined, “GOP, fearing tough fight for Texas Senate seat, paints Democrat as radical.”

“Fearing a tougher-than-expected race for one of Texas’s two Senate seats, Republicans are trying to cast Democratic candidate James Talarico as a radical leftist out of step with voters,” WaPo claimed.

“They have resurfaced videos of Talarico’s past comments, including one in which the state representative declares that ‘God is nonbinary.’ His two potential GOP opponents — who are headed to a bitter runoff in May — have shared sound bites of Talarico speaking on border security and attacked him for supporting trans rights,” the article continued, not expounding on how sharing Talarico’s own views and words is an attack by the GOP.

“National Republicans ratcheted up their attacks this week with a digital ad that shows an artificial-intelligence-generated Talarico reading similar, years-old social media posts about pronouns and ‘radicalized white men,'” the outlet added. “The torrent of videos Republicans are resurfacing across social media points to how they will try to erode that image and paint Talarico as something very different: a liberal wolf in Christian sheep’s clothing.”

Talarico told MSNOW that the GOP attacks are just a way “to distract us with the same old culture wars” and that Republicans have taken some of his comments out of context.

But it seems the Democrat has done a thorough job of representing his own views, needing no help from the GOP to portray him as a “radical.”
