Congressional Democrats have had a rather hostile relationship with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and one example of this was put on full display during a hearing on censorship.
Non-voting delegate from the Virgin Islands Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett questioned whether RFK Jr. was going to be given ten minutes to speak, noting that generally witnesses were only allotted five. Representative Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, swiftly shut down the line of questioning.
“Excuse me, point of order. I know that witnesses usually have five minutes. I see 10 minutes on the board. Is it going to be 10 minutes?” Plaskett asked.

“Five minutes, but we’re pretty lax with this, we’ll let him go for a little-” Jordan responded, prompting Plaskett to respond with feigned surprise.
“We are?” she asked. “I’ve seen you gavel down on a number of witnesses.”
“We’ve given senators and former Democrat members of Congress-” Jordan attempted to say before Plaskett once again jumped in.
“He’s neither,” she correctly pointed out, though it’s not clear how it would make any difference in how much time RFK Jr. was allotted to speak.
“If you want to cut him off and censor him some more, you’re welcome to do it,” the representative snarked, clearly having enough of Plaskett’s tactics.
“That’s not my job, that’s your job,” she huffed. “Why don’t you threaten the witness so that they can not want to be a witness?”
“Mr. Kennedy is recognized for his opening statement,” Jordan announced, completely shutting down the delegate’s behavior.
