Fox News’ Jesse Watters was scolded by his “The Five” co-hosts for defending a Democrat Senate candidate who is under fire for using inappropriate language as well as remarks about his own employer.
On Wednesday’s edition of the top-rated afternoon show, the gang was discussing a bombshell New York Times report about former Rep. Mary Peltola, the Democrat running for Alaska’s U.S. Senate seat in a pivotal race that could shift the balance of power away from the GOP.
According to the Times, Peltola has a fondness for salty, if not denigrating, language during “outbursts” with former staffers recalling how she tossed about the words “f*ggot” and “retarded,” both of which have been effectively banned by the leftist speech police and could be big trouble for her campaign.

“There’s a difference, obviously, between having thick skin and giving someone a free pass,” co-host Emily Compagno said. “Yes, snowflake culture is a real risk, and raising kids or that whole generation, if they’re soft and thin-skinned and dependent, then they will become soft, thin-skinned, dependent adults. But the other thing is, it’s 2026 and culturally and legally, employees can expect professionalism, and expecting professionalism is not fragility.”
That prompted a dismissive response from Watters, who may have divulged a little bit too much about the work environment at the conservative network.
“Emily, you’ve gone soft,” he said. “You’ve heard those words said at Fox. You’ve heard these words before: we’re gonna be all soft. ‘Oh my God,’ Who cares? It actually makes people like her more. This is from the world’s most dangerous catch, Alaska; people use salty language there…”
“Deadliest Catch, even better,” Watters said when corrected about the name of the Alaska-based reality TV show featuring Alaskan crab fishermen who regularly cuss up a storm.
“Who cares what she says? It’s what she does,” he continued. “People are sleeping with interns. They’re insider trading. They’re taking bribes and not even showing up to work. And people are upset that she said a bad word? It’s a bad word.”
“You think Bill O’Reilly tucked me in at night and sang me a lullaby?” Watters asked, referring to his time as a producer for the iconic former Fox News host. “Goodness gracious.”
“Ari Emanuel, high performer, he throws stuff at staff. You know what this staff says? “Thank you, Ari. Next time, hit me in the face.” This is what is done in an intense environment,” he added. “You go work on a Wall Street trading desk. Go work at the Pentagon. People say stuff, and it’s disloyal to drop a dime on your boss when the Senate power is hanging in the balance.”
“This could cost her the seat, and then what happens next? The Democrats aren’t there to block a Supreme Court justice, and it’s like three beta males and some soft snowflake girl who went to college and studied women’s studies and African studies?” Watters said. “That’s what the problem is, and that’s why Democrats are where they are because they’re afraid of getting yelled at. Getting yelled at makes you a man, and if you’re not yelled at, you’re not doing anything.”
“I would like HR to know that he was kidding,” Compagno said after Watters wrapped up the rant, to which he replied, “I’m not kidding.”
“You need to get it together,” co-host Dana Perino told her defiant male colleague. “You need to get it together.”
“Yeah, they should get it together,” Watters shot back.
“F**k that retard,” Peltola wrote in one of the texts reported on by the NYT. She also wrote, “I hope Planned Parenthood knows that if we don’t win it’s more their loss than ours. F**K THOSE BITCHES,” in another text to staff, according to the report, which could complicate her Senate bid.
