Don Lemon accidentally dances with the truth while ginning up fake Trump outrage

Ex-CNN host Don Lemon inadvertently danced with the truth while attempting to stoke fresh anger at President Donald Trump.

During a podcast with fellow ex-CNN host W. Kamau Bell, Lemon lamented the possibility of Trump running for a third term, something the president has jokingly hinted at in an obvious move to annoy his many haters.

In July, the president sported a “Trump 2028” hat at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

“Should be easy, I’m getting really good at running for president,” he said. “I won 3 times. Rigged election the 2nd time.”

“How seriously do you take it when Trump starts to play footsies with the idea of Trump 2028?” Bell asked Lemon on Wednesday’s “Who’s with Me?” podcast.

“I think you always take the person who is the president of the United States seriously,” Lemon said. “Pretty much every promise he has made — pretty much, like policy-wise — he has delivered.”

Oops!

Lemon quickly tried to recover with the assistance of Bell.

“[Trump] said, ‘Look what I’m gonna do with immigration. I’m gonna do this with taxes. I’m gonna do this with healthcare.’ And he did all of them. The only thing that he hasn’t been able to deliver on is pretty much the economy,” Lemon said before Bell interjected.

“I was gonna say,” interjected Bell. “The ones that people would love him to deliver on are lowering gas prices, no more foreign wars.”

“Lower the price of goods,” Lemon continued. “‘I’m gonna give you a DOGE check. I’m gonna give you a tariff rebate or refund check.’ None of those things have come to fruition, and those are the things that people want.”

In truth, Americans want a strong economy, and we’re well on our way:

Eventually, Lemon circled back to the fake outrage over a third Trump term, stating he’s “definitely” serious.

“Yeah, I take it seriously. Look, he’s got a Supreme Court that is basically under his thumb. He’s definitely gonna try, and no one has been able to stop him.”
