WH spox condemns Hamas supporters tearing down hostage posters after first playing dumb

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was forced to clean up a public relations mess of her own making when she reversed course over remarks feigning ignorance about Jew-haters tearing down posters of hostages held by the Hamas terror organization.

During Tuesday’s daily press briefing, President Joe Biden’s top spox was asked by a reporter about whether the White House was ok with Hamas supporters removing the posters showing the faces of the captives whom the murderous Islamists took hostage in their savage attack on Israeli civilian areas last month.

Put on the spot about the videos of pro-terrorist left-wingers tearing the posters down and whether the administration condemned them or saw the acts as a peaceful form of protest drew the typical dodging from Biden’s diversity hire.

“I haven’t – I’ve sorta kinda seen the reporting here and there,” Jean-Pierre said, playing dumb rather than giving a direct answer. “I think it was from last week, right?”

“There’s been like 30 million videos that have gone around the Internet about it,” the reporter, NBC News White House correspondent Peter Alexander shot back.

“Yeah, I hear you. I’m just not going to – I’m not going to…” she responded.

“Is that peaceful protest to pull that down or should you not be doing that?” Alexander asked.

“I’m just not going to go into specifics on that particular thing,” Biden’s mouthpiece said, jumping to another topic. “What I can say is there are real violent protests and threats that are happening right now, and senior administration officials are aware of these reports, which are deeply concerning.”

But soon after the daily session wrapped up, Jean-Pierre took to X, formerly known as Twitter, where she posted a statement that while falling short of condemning the actions of anti-Semitic activists, said that the tearing down of the posters is “wrong and hurtful.”

“As a result of the Hamas terrorist attacks, communities and families are grieving. For the past month, the families of those who have been taken hostage have lived in agony. Tearing down pictures of their loved ones – who are being held hostage by Hamas – is wrong and hurtful,” she said.

The historic first black lesbian immigrant to hold the prestigious job was pummeled by X users over her abrupt change of course.

The Biden administration has got a very serious anti-Semitism problem with a sizable portion of the Democrat base openly siding with Hamas and terrorizing Jews.

Condemning them risks alienating activists with Biden desperately needing to hold his grievance-based coalition together to get reelected next year but the more that they are seen as taking sides with Hamas supporters, the more that moderates and fence-sitters will be turned off.
