‘What a class act’: Walz appears to flip a bird to a pro-Trump Michigan fan

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was campaigning in Michigan on Saturday and he attended the NCAA football game between the 12th-ranked University of Michigan Wolverines and the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

While exiting the “Big House” in Ann Arbor, Walz appeared to flip off a fan who called out, “Trump 2024!”

The footage certainly appears to capture Walz extending a middle finger as someone cheered for former President Donald Trump — social media users were adamant that Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’ running mate flipped a bird:

For what it’s worth, a social media user observed, “Walz gives Minnesotans the finger each and every day … this is nothing new to us — just nice the rest of the country is seeing it too.”

Walz will debate Sen. J.D. Vance, who is Trump’s vice presidential running mate, on Tuesday. It remains to be seen if “the bird” becomes a topic of discussion.

The trip to the stadium did not get off to a good start for Walz, as seen on footage from TikTok where a group of fans are seen ruthlessly booing the Democrat as he arrived. Interestingly, even though he is the governor of Minnesota, Walz reportedly opted not to side with the Gophers, who ultimately lost 27-24.

Trump took in a college football game over the weekend too, receiving a rousing welcome at the Alabama-Georgia matchup that turned out to be a thrilling game.

Given that he was campaigning in Michigan, Walz shared this weaselly post on X praising the home team:

As for the alleged middle finger, the phrase “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush” may not apply to Walz — here’s a quick sampling of responses to the apparent lack of class on display, as seen on X:
