President Biden’s approval numbers are so bad, historically bad, that the White House appears to have thrown caution to the wind and is swinging for the fences.
How else do you explain “Dark Brandon?”
In what may be one of the most effective political slights in recent history, the “Let’s go Brandon” refrain brought to us by an NBC Sports reporter who appeared to misinterpret a “F*ck Joe Biden” chant at the end of a NASCAR race, continues to be a thorn in the side of the Biden administration — to this day, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis makes reference to the “Brandon administration.”
The best proof of this assertion is a feeble attempt this week to flip the narrative and try to rebrand Biden in a more favorable light.
Taking to Twitter Sunday night after the Senate passed the so-called Inflation Reduction Act that experts say does little to curb rising costs and raises taxes amid a recession that the fact-checkers are still out to lunch on — a big no-no — White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates tweeted a photo of Biden with laser eyes and added this: “Dark Brandon is crushing it.”

It’s almost as if the White House turned its PR machine over to a few non-binary Ivy League interns wandering the halls of the Executive Mansion.
Bates, who once called Trump a “nauseating, fearful pig,” countered with a follow-up production when called out by the GOP:

In a show of how obedient Democrats are to the White House, the “Dark Brandon” theme was quickly adapted by even state-level Democrats, as seen in a tweet from Florida state Rep. Anna Eskamani, a progressive activist turned lawmaker from Orlando. The “queen,” as she likes to refer to women, took to Twitter to celebrate the unprecedented act of state-sponsored lawlessness seen in Mar-a-Lago when a small army of FBI agents raided the home of a former president who is likely to be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee.
“Dark Brandon shifts into fifth gear,” she tweeted, proving the raid that strikes at the very foundation of American democracy was a Democratic maneuver.

It seems that Eskamani didn’t get the memo that the White House knew nothing — nothing! — about the raid ahead of time, as “senior officials” claimed.
Still, outside of dutiful Democrats who understand the value of doing what the white liberal brain trust of the Democratic Party tells them to do, “Dark Brandon” was a source of hilarity.
Here’s a sampling of some of the responses to the story from Twitter:
You can try to Dark Brandon meme your way out of sub-40 approval ratings all you want, but throwing hundreds of billions at green boondoggles in the middle of an inflationary spiral isn’t going to turn things around.

Dark Brandon cracks down on his political opponents by raiding their homes with the FBI. That’s extremely fashy.
