White House releases surprising list of DC upgrades

President Donald Trump touted an impressive list of accomplishments in efforts to beautify the nation’s capital, and critics are having a meltdown.

In a Truth Social post over the weekend, Trump took a victory lap with a list of renovations that have taken place under his watch, including the cleaning of dozens of monuments and statues, as well as fixing lights and cleaning graffiti.

The graphic, shared by the White House social media account, detailed that 1,695 lights in D.C. have been fixed, 1,143 benches have been installed or “rehabbed,” and 22 fountains repaired.

In addition, Trump’s administration has cleaned more than two dozen statues and installed six, as well as removing 152 homeless encampments in the capital as it gets ready for America’s 250th Anniversary celebration.

Sky News host Rita Panahi reported on the transformations, featuring videos of D.C. residents praising the efforts.

“A year ago, Trump said he was going to clean up D.C., and he did,” remarked one woman in the video clip.

“This is a losing issue for the people opposing it,” Sky News contributor Kosha Gada said, referring to Democrats and Trump critics who cannot allow themselves to admit the change has been positive.

“Just a simple message, clean up the streets, clean up homelessness, maintain basic infrastructure, drain the pool once in a while,” Gada said.

“This is what competence actually looks like,” one social media user noted on X, pointing out how “152 homeless encampments cleared out of D.C. and suddenly the same people who let the capital rot for years are ‘concerned.'”

And while the fake news will do its job of ignoring the accomplishments and giving a platform to the algae panickers, X users had plenty to say about the reality.
