The widow of the man killed by a would-be assassin at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania rejected a call from President Joe Biden.
Helen Comperatore, the grieving wife of Corey Comperatore, the hero firefighter who was fatally struck by a bullet after shielding his wife and two daughters with his own body when shots rang out Saturday, spoke with the New York Post and said there was nothing malicious in her refusal but that she wanted nothing to do with Biden as a show of respect for her late husband.
“I didn’t talk to Biden,” Helen Comperatore said. “I didn’t want to talk to him. My husband was a devout Republican and he would not have wanted me to talk to him.”

“I don’t have any ill will towards Joe Biden. I’m not one of those people that gets involved in politics,” she said. “I support Trump. That’s who I’m voting for, but I don’t have ill will towards Biden.”
“He didn’t do anything bad to my husband. A 20-year-old despicable kid did,” Mrs. Comperatore said.
That “kid” is 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, who was shot and killed by a counter-sniper team after he opened fire from a rooftop less than 200 yards from the stage where former President Donald Trump was standing. Trump was struck in the ear by one of the bullets, while Corey Comperatore was killed in the gunfire. Two other men were also seriously wounded.
Explaining that it was supposed to be an “exciting day” for the family to attend the rally and show their support for Trump, Helen said that when gunshots were heard “her husband instinctively shouted, ‘Get down,’ and used his body to shield his family from the sniper’s bullets — and it cost him his life,” the Post reported.
Mrs. Comperatore told the newspaper that Trump has yet to contact her.

A developing story is the sheer incompetence that took place that day by those tasked with ensuring the safety of Trump, who escaped death by the grace of God alone.
CBS dropped a stunning report Monday stating that there were three police snipers inside the building Crooks was using as a perch. But the story gets far more shocking as it was reported one of the snipers took a photo of Crooks before watching him leave and reappear with a range finder to measure the distance between his position and the stage. This information was reportedly communicated via radio to the command post.
One of the snipers inside saw Crooks outside looking up at the roof observing the building and then disappeared, according to local law enforcement.
Then Crooks came back, sat down and was looking on his phone and at that point one of the snipers took a picture of him.

“Crooks disappeared again and then came back a third time with a backpack. The snipers called in with information that he had a backpack and said he was walking towards the back of the building,” CBS reporter Olivia Rinaldi posted on X.
The observation began before Trump took the stage — he was shot just over six minutes after he began speaking. It is inexplicable that the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee was allowed to take the stage.
The Secret Service falls under the purview of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who acknowledged that the shooting demonstrated a “failure” from the agency that prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) under its new director, Kimberly Cheatle.
Mayorkas added, “I have 100% confidence in the director of the United States Secret Service. I have 100% confidence in the United States Secret Service.”
