Wild paranoia on ‘The View’ as Joy Behar claims Trump could declare martial law and cancel the midterms

In more of the wild paranoia that has become its brand, ABC’s “The View” jacked up the political tension in the aftermath of the death of Renee Good, the activist lesbian shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis last week as she tried to run him over.

On Tuesday’s edition of the IQ-draining daytime gabfest, Joy Behar and her leftist co-hosts discussed the incident, which has put Democrat leaders of the scandal-racked state and the Trump administration on a collision course with national implications.

In the aftermath of the incident, left-wing NGOs and organizations sought to exploit raw emotions by mobilizing an army of protesters in Minneapolis and other cities which has sparked fears of a sequel to the 2020 “Summer of Love” when destructive race riots broke out after drug addicted career criminal George Floyd died while resisting arrest.

“I worry about that Trump is looking for this kind of pandemonium to go on like you just described, so that he could declare martial law or something and also cancel the midterms,” the chief harpy exclaimed. “Watch out for this guy!”

“Well, under martial law, you won’t have elections,” co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in.

“Because he’s worried, he even said, ‘If the Democrats take Congress next time, I will be impeached,’ which means that he could be convicted and sent to jail,” Behar continued. “He does not want that to happen.”

The foghorn-voiced redhead was likely referring to the president’s recent remarks to Republicans that if they don’t prevail in the midterms, that Democrats will once again impeach him, which they have already done twice, a gross abuse of a constitutional check that until Nancy Pelosi ran the House, was only rarely used over the first two and a half centuries of the nation’s existence.

It’s not the first time that Behar has stoked fears that Trump was going to intervene to stop the next election; she made a similar claim back in October.

Also on Tuesday’s show, co-host Whoopi Goldberg, who smeared ICE as “violent criminals” the day before, dispensed advice to protesters to avoid escalation.

“Let us be very clear. Not all ICE agents are out of control. Not all of them,” she said. “Some of them actually do know what they’re doing, and they’re having a hard time because they don’t recognize the agency they’ve worked for, for years.”

“So there’s a lot going on, but keep in mind, you don’t have the right to be a bonehead, OK?” Goldberg continued. “You can’t spit on people. People don’t like it. But you do have the right to say, ‘We don’t like what we see, we’re going to protest.’”

Behar’s hysteria isn’t likely going to do much to soothe the raw nerves of the show’s viewership, with the target demographic being unstable wine moms who like Good, are ripe for being turned into soldiers of the Democrat resistance, and perhaps that’s the point.
