Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) is evidently fine with Ukraine possibly tipping us into WWIII by using U.S. weaponry on Russian soil.

The Ukrainians have recently attempted to turn the tables on Russia by attacking, seizing, and occupying land in the Kursk region. It’s the first time since the beginning of the conflict that Ukrainian forces have surged into Russia proper. This is also the first time since WWII that a foreign army has invaded Russian territory and it has the very real possibility of escalating the war, drawing in the U.S. and NATO.

Ukraine has lost thousands of troops but with the U.S. and NATO behind it, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has evidently decided it is time to return the favor of attack against Russia. Many believe there is no way to win such a move unless, of course, the U.S. and NATO join the fight.

Face The Nation anchor Margaret Brennan interviewed Kelly and asked him if he was comfortable with Ukraine using U.S. weapons on Russian soil. He adamantly insisted he was just fine with it, not commenting on the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin is sure to see it as American involvement in the conflict.

The Arizona Democrat’s reasoning is that Putin “illegally attacked” Ukraine. He went on to accuse the Russian leader of killing women and children and therefore it justifies the use of U.S. weaponry on Russian soil. He tried to soften that brash assertion by saying that the Ukrainians don’t intend to hold Russian territory for long. First of all, unless other forces step in, they won’t be able to. Second, Kelly’s rhetoric could light the fuse on a powderkeg that could ignite world conflict. It’s extremely irresponsible and dangerous.

“About Ukraine. I know you are very focused on that war. Their forces launched this bold incursion into western Russia, into this Kursk area. Are you comfortable with U.S. weapons being used on Russian soil?” Brennan asked.

“Well, Margaret. Yes. You know, I am at this point. The Ukrainians were illegally attacked by Vladimir Putin. He is intentionally killing women, children, old people. It was an illegal invasion, this incursion. Let’s characterize it that way for now. I don’t think the Ukrainians want to intentionally hold Russian territory for a long period of time, but this really set Putin back on his heels,” Kelly claimed, making it crystal clear he has no clue as to what exactly is going on.

“He has always tried to characterize himself as somebody that is going to protect Russia. I think his citizens are seeing, the results of what he has done in Ukraine that now they are somewhat at risk. 130,000 Russians have had to leave their homes. And at this point in this conflict, I think the Ukrainians, did something unpredictable that could really change the tide of how this complex is going to play out,” the Democrat added.

The way it could play out is warfare exploding across the planet. Kelly severely underestimates the lengths that Putin will go to in war and he has no idea how brutal he is.

Unfortunately, if things keep going the way they are, we may all find out the hard way that Russia, China, and Iran can easily be provoked into a world war where millions could die. Kelly and the Democrats are poking the Russian bear and it may turn on them big time.

Even Politico has an inkling of how explosive all this is:

At the time of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, there were fears that if Ukraine and its allies expanded the war to Russian territory, a regional or global conflict could break out. The war, however, has largely settled into a stalemate, at least until Ukraine’s forces crossed into the Kursk region in Russian territory.

It looks like that stalemate may indeed be over.

And history tends to repeat itself, “Kursk was the site of a massive tank battle between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany in the summer of 1943; the Soviet victory there put the Germans pretty much into permanent retreat on the Eastern Front of World War II. In August 2023, Putin commemorated that victory by calling that battle ‘forever one of the pinnacles of the great feats of our people.'”

The past is prologue.

It should also be noted that Kelly started the spy balloon company funded by China according to Fox News. National security does not appear to be his forte.
