Kamala surrogate says quiet part out loud: ‘She trusts journalists to explain our values to folks’

A Democratic political commentator appeared to let the cat out of the bag on how the mainstream media is essentially working for the Democrat Party.

Kaivan Shroff, whose X account describes him as a “non-profit advisor, and attorney” as well as a 2024 DNC delegate, was speaking with ABC News in a clip shared by the Trump campaign’s War Room account on Monday just as the Democratic National Convention kicks off in Chicago.

Shroff addressed the economic agenda put forth by Vice President Kamala Harris last week which sparked criticism on both sides of the aisle. From plans to expand the child tax credit, provide first-time homebuyers with $25,000 for a down payment, and ban price gouging at grocery stores, Harris rolled out her policy proposals in North Carolina last week.

The Washington Post editorial board and economic pundits such as Jason Furman, a former Obama administration adviser, panned the vice president’s touted plans.

But Shroff celebrated Harris for sharing details that will “get picked apart” because, evidently, journalists can then step in to do the rest of the job.

“In fact, I think that Vice President Harris has been incredibly brave to roll out an ambitious economic agenda because we all know how this works,” he shared on ABC News Live as he said the quiet part out loud.

“The more details you share the more your policies are going to get picked apart, but she’s saying ‘I trust the American people, I trust the journalists to explain these policies and our values to folks,'” he added.

“And I think when that happens it will be successful for Democrats,” Shroff predicted, noting “These are very pro-worker, pro-middle class policies that people have been waiting for.”

As Harris has been stealing policy ideas from her rival, former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee is set to announce his plans “to unleash American energy and lower costs for American families,” according to a press release by the campaign.

Social media users reacted to Schroff’s comments on X, and in response to criticism for his remarks, he declared in another post: “To be very clear, I’m not a Harris surrogate and my opinions are my own.”
