‘You can’t succeed without teeth’: Karen Bass pushes for free dental care for meth heads

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass sparked criticism of the Democrat’s call for taxpayers to foot the bill for giving free dental care to drug addicts.

The former Democrat congresswoman is running for reelection this year, and during remarks about funding the homelessness crisis in the City of Angels at a candidates forum this week, pitched the idea that meth heads are entitled to a mouthful of shiny pearly whites if they are to ever be successful.

“How many people who are unhoused that you meet have no teeth at all? They don’t have teeth. Why? Because meth rots your teeth. You can’t succeed without teeth. So there needs to be comprehensive health care provided to people,” Bass said.

The mayor’s bizarre take went viral on social media, where she was pilloried by X users.

Always dead on with his razor-sharp insight, legendary conservative actor James Woods perfectly nailed it.

“Dumber than AOC. And there could be no lower bar,” he wrote.

Bass has not yet put out a specific policy prescription for fixing the teeth of pipe-sucking degenerate vagrants, but she touted her record during the event, which was held at the Original Pantry Cafe in downtown Los Angeles, located near the city’s historic Skid Row area.

“L.A. has decreased street homelessness two years in a row, 17.5%,” the mayor said to the homeless providers who attended the event, according to LAist. “The only reason that happened is because of everybody in this room.”

Spencer Pratt, who is running against Bass, shared a wicked AI-generated ad savaging his Democrat opponent.

Pratt, a reality TV star, notes that “super meth” and drug addiction are fueling LA’s homelessness.

“The reality is no matter how many beds you give these people, they are on super meth, they are on fentanyl,” he said at a recent forum, according to the Los Angeles Times.

It’s hard to see how freebies for meth heads are a political winner. How about trying to get them off drugs instead?
