Fox News suffered from the pitfalls of doing a live broadcast while awaiting the verdict in former President Donald Trump’s trumped-up criminal hush money trial.
Anchor Shannon Bream spoke with network colleague Trey Gowdy and National Review contributing editor Andy McCarthy outside the Manhattan courtroom as a jury plucked from one of the bluest districts in America deliberated the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee’s fate.
Just a few feet from the street a panel discussion on Hunter Biden’s trial on gun charges was taking place — the trial is set to begin next week. Just as Bream was throwing back to Gowdy, a New Yorker on a bicycle had a few choice words for the former Republican congressman as he rode by.
The cyclist called out, “You f*cking suck, Trey Gowdy! You c*cksucker!”

The verdict did come in rather quickly, with the jury spending less than 12 hours to render a historic, first-ever felony conviction of a U.S. president in what Trump called a “rigged trial” afterward.
As for the vulgar greeting extended to Trey Gowdy, it comes as no surprise in today’s society that the use of profanity was celebrated. Then again, Fox News is not exactly in friendly territory on the streets of New York City.
At the same time, expressing yourself is an American tradition. At least it was prior to the 2020 election.
