‘You measure it in grief’: First lady excuses Biden blanking on date Beau died; admin circles wagons

First Lady Jill Biden attempted on Saturday to explain why President Biden was unable to recall for Special Counsel Robert Hur when, exactly, his son Beau died — and in doing so, showed precisely why she is so reviled by conservatives.

In a campaign email sent to Democratic donors, Jill accused Hur of using Beau’s death to score “political points.”

Given the many times Beau’s name has been invoked by the president for precisely that reason, the campaign pearl-clutching sent conservatives on X on a full-scale snark attack.

“We should give everyone grace, and I can’t imagine someone would try to use our son’s death to score political points,” the first lady wrote, according to Fox News Digital. “If you’ve experienced a loss like that, you know that you don’t measure it in years — you measure it in grief.”

“Believe me,” she added, “like anyone who has lost a child, Beau and his death never leave him.”

Beau Biden died in 2015, not while serving in Iraq as the president repeatedly prefers to remember it, but from a brain tumor.

According to Fox News Digital, “his death was a major reason Biden cited for choosing not to run for president the following year.”

“May 30th is a day forever etched on our hearts,” Jill wrote of Beau’s death. “It shattered me, it shattered our family. … What helped me, and what helped Joe, was to find purpose. That’s what keeps Joe going, serving you and the country we love.”

In his report, Hur stated that President Biden “did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died.”

“I hope you can imagine how it felt to read that attack — not just as Joe’s wife, but as Beau’s mother,” Jill wrote.

“I hope Jill can imagine how it felt for these soldiers’ moms,” one user on X replied, referring to the mothers of those soldiers who were killed as a result of President Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Some users were quick to point out that Jill is, in fact, Beau’s stepmother. His actual mom, Neilia Hunter, died in a car crash when Beau was… well, the mainstream media can’t seem to agree on how old Beau was when the tragic accident occurred.

Regardless, the point was made:

As for Joe Biden’s age, Jill said being 81 is an “incredible asset” to America.

“Joe is 81, that’s true,” Jill wrote, “but he’s 81 doing more in an hour than most people do in a day.”

“Joe has wisdom, empathy, and vision,” she insisted. “He has delivered on so many of his promises as President precisely because he’s learned a lot in those 81 years. His age, with his experience and expertise is an incredible asset and he proves it every day.”

And Jill isn’t the only one trying to convince American voters that her husband is fit to lead.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who narrowly escaped impeachment last week, claimed Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that it’s difficult to adequately prepare for a meeting with the president because he is just so darn “sharp.”

“The most difficult part about a meeting with President Biden is preparing for it because he is sharp, intensely probing and detail-oriented and focused,” he stated.

Mitch Landrieu, a senior adviser to Biden, also took a turn at damage control on “Meet the Press.”

He called the notion that Biden is “not ready for this job” a “bucket of B.S.,” according to NBC News.

“It’s so deep [that] your boots will get stuck under,” he declared.

“I’ve been knowing him for 30 years. I have met with him personally. I’ve met with him with two people, five people, 10 people. I have been on trips with him, crisscrossing the country, rebuilding America based on this incredible infrastructure bill that was passed,” Landrieu gushed. “And I’m telling you, this guy is tough. He’s smart. He’s on his game.”

On X, few were convinced.

“Calling Joe Biden ‘sharp’ is like calling a bowling ball ‘square,'” said one user.

“Though we shouldn’t be surprised. The Biden regime says men can be women,” the user added. “Everything is backwards in Biden’s America.”
