‘You’ve become insufferable’: Brit Hume reamed for snarking about ‘failed president’ Trump

Conservative Charlie Kirk clapped back hard against Fox News commentator Brit Hume for viciously claiming former President Trump was a “failed president.”

The clash between the two began with a clip that Kirk put out asking, “If Trump was such a failed president, why are they doing everything they possibly can to prevent a second term of Trump?”

Hume, who is no fan of Trump and has predicted his failure at every turn, quipped on Twitter, “Oh, I don”t know. Maybe they don’t want a repeat of a failed presidency. Just guessing here.”

Kirk wasn’t about to let the volley go unanswered and in the debate department, Hume appears extremely lacking.

“Ask yourself, if Trump was such a failure of a president, why was he skating to re-election before COVID? Why was there a blue-collar boom during his tenure? Why were we energy independent? Why was economic growth through the roof and unemployment and inflation down? Why was the border finally under control? Why was the Taliban and ISIS defeated and there were no new wars? Why did Russia not invade Ukraine?” Kirk tweeted.

“The current Regime wants to throw Trump in prison because they know he can beat them at the ballot box, and because he’s an existential threat to their institutional power sources once in office. They know he’s their number one threat precisely because he was, and remains effective,” he astutely added.

Previously, on Fox News, Hume argued that “the case can be made that [Trump’s] a loser because since he got elected in 2016, he’s compiled a string of them. Either he or his supported candidates have lost too many races.”

A day after Hume’s appearance, Trump took to Truth Social and slammed him for his statements.

“Brit Hume of Fox has really gotten it wrong! First of all, he never thought I would win in 2016, & some things never change. In 2020 I got more votes than any sitting President in history, by far. Biden didn’t get 80 million votes. The Election was Rigged, even if you just want to go by the recent FBI/Twitter Files Hoax, or the DOJ/Facebook Scam, or True the Vote, where tapes of millions of Votes are shown being ‘Stuffed.’ He likes to say I lost, but I didn’t, & my Endorsements almost all won!” Trump wrote.

Hume has also attacked Trump over the classified documents case against him.

“I’m certainly eager to hear what the Trump defense will be,” Hume said in June on Fox News referring to classified documents allegedly found at Mar-a-Lago. “So far, the one thing we’re not hearing is that he didn’t do these things. That is to say, he didn’t keep the documents. He didn’t refuse to give them back. He didn’t store them in an unsafe and insecure location. He’s not disputing that, so far.”

Also in June, Hume accused Trump of appearing “incoherent.”

“His answers on the matter of the law seem to verge on incoherent,” Hume claimed concerning the classified documents following an interview between Trump and Fox News host Bret Baier.

“He seemed to be saying the documents were really his and he didn’t give them back when he was requested to do so, and when they were subpoenaed because he wasn’t ready to because he hadn’t sorted them or whatever from his golf shirts,” he asserted. “It was not altogether clear what he was saying, but he seemed to believe that the documents were his, that he had declassified them and therefore he could do whatever he wanted with them.”

So, it’s pretty obvious that Hume is a Never-Trumper. However, his shot at Kirk fell exceedingly flat as all of his accusations pretty much have against Trump.

People don’t have a lot of good things to say about Hume these days… at least those on the right don’t and his latest tweet got massive blowback:
