‘A 9 to 5 job should not be an N-95 job’: DeSantis latest move sure to send libs into tailspin

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has long been demonized by Democrats and media talking heads for his hand-off approach to the COVID-19 pandemic, and his latest guideline update is keeping the tradition of freedom alive.

On Tuesday, the governor shared a video informing the citizens of Florida that Surgeon General Joseph Lapado issued updated guidance pertaining to mask requirements in the workplace. This is good news for freedom-lovers who have been wanting to shed masks since the beginning.

“Florida businesses need to stop relying on outdated CDC forced masking of worker requirements. [Florida Surgeon General] Ladapo has put out new guidance for Florida workers liberating them from 8 hour forced mask workdays. A 9 to 5 job should not be a N-95 job.”

“Simply relying on outdated CDC guidance when the experience has completely undercut that is not really a reasonable thing to do at this point,” he explained in the video.

He also noted the working conditions of hospitality employees and those in the service industry in general.

“Every time I go to these places, I’ll be in these big events and you have all these people having such a good time and the poor servers are forced to mask and I will ask them, ‘Are you allowed to take the mask off?’ They say not yet. They’re all waiting for it. They all want to be liberated. They want to be treated normally,” he posited.

DeSantis put his words into actions Wednesday, as seen here:

A press release outlined the changes in masking, isolation and a section titled “Advising Health Care Practitioners and Facilities to Reevaluate Status Quo Protocols in Favor of Scientifically Based Treatment Options to Benefit Patients.”

It reads, in part:

“People want to live freely in Florida, without corporate masking creating a two-tier society and without overbearing isolation for children,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “We are empowering health care practitioners to follow science, not Fauci’s status quo.”
Public health updates in Florida now include:
  • Pushing Back Against Corporate Masking for Employees
  • Advising Health Care Practitioners and Facilities to Reevaluate Status Quo Protocols in Favor of Scientifically Based Treatment Options to Benefit Patients
  • Updating Daycare Guidance to Limit Child Isolation to 5 Days
  • Updating the School Rule to Limit Student Isolation to 5 Days
  • Reducing Isolation for Floridians with COVID to 5 Days

“This guidance makes clear that all employees at a corporation should not be forced to wear a mask while at work. The guidance recognizes that there are millions of employees in Florida working in industries from hospitality to manufacturing to banking who for no reason whatsoever have been forced to wear a mask at work,” the statement emphasized.
