According to sources who spoke with Page Six, the deal was executed for the “GMA3” anchors-turned-lovers Friday afternoon.

The departure was later confirmed by an ABC News spokesperson in a statement, “After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News. We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions.”

Just before that statement went out, ABC News President Kim Godwin reportedly issued an all-staff email calling the scandalous affair “a distraction.”

“I want to share with you that we’ve reached a decision about T.J. and Amy,” she allegedly said in the memo obtained by Page Six.

“I know that this has been a distraction for so many of us, but let’s not forget all the great work that continues to make ABC News the #1 news network in America, and that’s because of you,” Godwin added. “I want to thank you again for your patience and professionalism during this time.”

She told employees that an announcement concerning who will take over “GMA3” and “20/20” will come at a later time.

The steamy affair first made headlines in November 2022. It came as a shock to many but some knew it was going on and claim that the liaison was “a pretty open secret” among the “GMA” family.

Following an investigation being launched into the relationship between the two anchors, it was reported that Holmes, 45, had three other affairs at his place of employment, allegedly with married producer Natasha Singh, script coordinator Jasmin Pettaway, and another junior staffer who was not named. The report claims that he had sex with Pettaway in his office.

The affair between Holmes and Robach allegedly began when they were training together for the March 2022 New York City Half Marathon.

The two conducted mediation talks with ABC from Los Angeles where they are staying following a jaunt to Turks and Caicos. The affair is evidently ongoing.

During what is being referred to as “extremely contentious” negotiations, the former anchors were accused of “various forms of misconduct,” including that Robach, 49, once came to work “drunk” and alcohol was found in her dressing room.

Sources told TMZ that the allegation of Robach’s drinking is “insane” and “ridiculous,” noting some of the bottles were sent from top ABC News execs.

“They are using any excuse,” the source added. “Other people in the office also have alcohol, it’s everywhere and it’s unopened.”

It’s also being reported that Robach was “blindsided” by “the scope of T.J.’s alleged past office romances.”

Holmes announced his divorce from his wife of almost 13 years, Marilee Fiebig, in late December.

Robach was already in the throes of a divorce from her husband, Andrew Shue, and it is “almost finalized.” She reportedly moved out of their home during the summer.
