Abortion doc’s shocking answer to GOP Rep’s live birth abortion question: ‘I can’t even fathom’

During a congressional hearing on abortion that took place Wednesday, a particularly prickly exchange caught public attention.

Republican Representative Mike Johnson of Louisiana asked board-certified OB-GYN Dr. Yashica Robinson to respond to a very specific scenario. She claimed she couldn’t “fathom” the hypothetical, replying, “Just like you probably can’t imagine what you would do if your daughter was raped.”

As leftists demand unrestricted abortion access, it is only logical to find out where the definitive endpoint is, at what point is the child worthy of life? This is what Johnson was trying to figure out with his questions, noting that Robinson was the only person there who supported abortion up to 20 weeks into the pregnancy.

“So I would love for you to explain to us, in your medical opinion, at what point in pregnancy should having an abortion no longer be an option?” Johnson asked.

Instead of giving a clear and concise answer, Robinson mentioned that “every pregnancy is unique and different” and thus every woman deserves “access to care” by which she means abortions.

Trying to get a more definitive response, Johnson broke in, “Let me, let me ask you – do you support the right of a woman who’s just seconds away from birthing a healthy child to have an abortion?”

Robinson boldly declared that his question was basically irrelevant.

“I think that the question that you’re asking does not realistically reflect abortion care,” she said, and when the representative asked her the question again, she responded that she won’t “entertain hypotheticals.”

“It’s not a theoretical, ma’am, you’re a medical doctor,” Johnson replied.

“I am a medical doctor and that has never happened,” the physician snarked.

“How about if a child is halfway out of the birth canal? Is an abortion permissible then?” Johnson asked as Robinson appeared stunned by the question.

“I can’t even fathom that,” Robinson replied.

“I’m not asking you to fathom it, if it occurred, would you support that abortion or not? That’s unrestricted abortion, right?” Johnson questioned.

Then Robinson went for a more personal comeback.

“I can’t answer a question that I can’t imagine. Just like you probably can’t imagine what you would do if your daughter was raped. If it hasn’t happened it may be difficult.”
