Adam Carolla skewers Gov. Newsom over pandemic: ‘This guy’s a sociopathic, tyrannical dictator’

Comedian and conservative podcast host Adam Carolla has never pulled his punches when it comes to California Governor Gavin Newsom.

But when the slick progressive tried to rewrite history and claim that the Golden State “led the nation” with his successful handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, Carolla told fellow podcaster Megyn Kelly, “All he does is lie.”

Newsom boasted that California “outperformed the rest of the nation” and students benefitted from “less learning loss” than those in, say, Florida.

Those measures that Californians were against, like school closures, the governor noted, were the fault of local leaders, not his leadership.

“Total revisionist history,” Carolla stated. “This guy is a godd**n sociopath. I talked to him. I stared into the eye of the Beast for an hour and a half on my podcast, and all he does is lie. He puts Brylcreem on his teeth.”

The 2013 interview, back before Newsom became governor, is still talked about in conservative California circles. Carolla sliced and diced him.

“I don’t know why more idiots don’t understand who this guy is,” Carolla told Kelly. “I lived in California. They shut down the beaches. They arrested people for paddle boarding in the harbor. They shut down all the beach volleyball courts.”

“By the way, being outdoors, Vitamin D, exercise, sunshine could have been the best thing for you during Covid,” he added. “But no, he locked them all up in their apartments.”

“This guy’s a sociopathic, tyrannical dictator and no one should listen to a godd**n word this idiot says,” Carolla stated bluntly.

“He’s just a sociopath,” the comedian stressed. “He’s a liar. And by the way, he didn’t believe COVID for ten minutes.”

“He was out eating,” Carolla noted, referring to Newsom’s infamous trip — against his own authoritarian edict — to the swanky French Laundry. The outing nearly caused Newsom to be recalled.

“The following week, he shut down outdoor dining based on zero science in California,” Carolla recalled. “Zero science.”

Additionally, while Newsom pushed school lockdowns for public students, he sent his four kids to a private school that remained open, Kelly said.

“Gavin Newsom’s revisionist history on his tyrannical COVID lockdowns are insane,” Carolla stated.

“It’s insulting for anyone who lived in California, because they saw the schools closed, they saw the playgrounds closed, they saw the churches closed, they saw the beaches closed,” he said. “I mean, these guys are sociopaths.”

“I saw [Rep.] Eric Swalwell on a news show about three weeks ago … ‘The Democrats? We’re the party that if some airborne virus sweeps the land we’re the ones who are trying to open Main Street, open schools, open churches,'” Carolla continued. “You’re the ones? Or you’re the ones who locked everyone down and got everyone addicted to Fentanyl and suicidal for a year and a half.”

On X, many agreed with Carolla’s assessment of Newsom and his fellow progressive Democrats.

“He’s Woke in Chief,” said one user. “Of course they lie because wokeness is based on lies.”
