Agitated Harris snaps at ‘Today’ host, rambles and dodges through grilling on Biden’s proclamations

Vice President Kamala Harris stumbled and bumbled through yet another devastating interview this Thursday, with this one perhaps being even more damaging to her already ailing image than the last one.

This interview with Savannah Guthrie, the host of NBC’s “Today,” began with the host asking about President Joe Biden’s “green light” to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As previously reported, during his solo presser Wednesday, the president had suggested that he’d be OK with Putin taking Ukraine piece by piece.

“The president has been very clear, and we as the United States are very clear, if Putin takes aggressive action, we are prepared to levy serious costs, period. And I will tell you that part of the posture that we have taken is grounded in the respect and the value we place in …,” the VP responded in the Thursday interview before being cut off.

“I’m sorry to interrupt, but it is less than clear. Thirty minutes after the news conference, the White House press secretary had to actually clarify the president’s remarks …,” Guthrie tried saying before Harris snapped at her.

“I’m being clear with you right now. And so if you’re interested, I’ll continue to be clear,” the frustrated VP hissed.

FYI, the NBC host was correct:

“President Biden has been clear with the Russian President: If any Russian military forces move across the Ukrainian border, that’s a renewed invasion, and it will be met with a swift, severe, and united response from the United States and our Allies,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said after the president’s presser.

“President Biden also knows from long experience that the Russians have an extensive playbook of aggression short of military action, including cyberattacks and paramilitary tactics. And he affirmed today that those acts of Russian aggression will be met with a decisive, reciprocal, and united response.”

Continuing the Thursday interview, Guthrie asked point-blank whether there is “any amount of land that Russia could take that the president would allow, turn a blind eye to, not issue those ‘severe sanctions’ he’s been threatening for that massive full-scale invasion.”

“Our interpretation of any country — in this case, Russia and Vladimir Putin — denying or violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine will be interpreted as aggressive action, and it will be met with a severe cost, period,” Harris responded.

Seemingly not convinced, Guthrie noted that the president has predicted “that Putin probably will invade Ukraine,” suggesting that he’s aware deep down that his threats of “severe sanctions” aren’t impressing anybody.

Harris refused to take the bait, claiming she wasn’t about “to psycho-analyze President Putin.”

(Take note of the look on the VP’s face.)

Guthrie moved on to noting that America’s NATO allies are, in contradiction to claims by the Biden State Department, currently divided over how to respond to Russia. “How damaging” is this disconnect between the administration and its allies, she asked.

Harris responded with a spiel about Biden’s supposed track record “as the former head of foreign relations and as the former vice president and a senator in a role of leadership on foreign policy for years.”

The NBC host pushed back by pointing out that Ukrainian officials were dumbfounded by the president’s “green light” remarks.

“I know the White House tried to clarify it and clean it up afterwards, but the damage done. You can’t unring the bell. Is Vladimir Putin likely to listen to a later statement from the White House press secretary or the words of President Biden,” she said.

This provoked Harris unto uncoiling her cat claws, per se.

“I will repeat myself. I’m vice president of the United States, and the president and I work closely together, and I know his position because he’s been consistent in that regard. If Vladimir Putin and Russia takes aggressive action, it will be met with a cost that will be severe,” she claimed.

Guthrie then moved on to the Democrats’ so-called “voting rights” bills which, in reality, are designed to federalize America’s elections, and the president’s claim that the 2022 elections won’t be legitimate unless they’re signed into law.

“The president openly cast doubt on whether the 2022 midterm elections would be legitimate. He said it all depends, which is astonishing to hear a president question whether our elections will be legitimate. We’ve heard it before, but not from this president,” she said.

Harris tried to deflect by spouting talking points about the bills themselves, prompting the NBC host to cut her off again.

“But those bills were debated and didn’t pass,” Guthrie said.

“If I may finish,” Harris barked back with a smile, though her eyes told a different story.

“But the specific question, if you don’t mind, does he think now that these bills haven’t been passed that the ’22 midterms won’t be legitimate or fair or free?” Guthrie said, trying to press the VP on the original question.

Harris effectively ignored the question and continued her spiel. Then when Guthrie later tried questioning her about the president’s inability to pass any of his desired major legislation, Harris began talking about the “bipartisan” infrastructure package.

All in all, the VP said absolutely nothing during the 10-minute-long interview. Ever since the interview aired Thursday morning, the criticism has been pouring in.
