Angry parents ask ‘why won’t Biden allow baby formula imports NOW to ease crisis?’

President Joe Biden’s incompetent handling of the ongoing baby formula crisis is earning him fresh rebuke from parents across the nation.

Amid Biden’s promises that baby formula will be more readily available on store shelves “in a matter of weeks” and as the Food and Drug Administration works to make that possible, angry parents are calling out the president and his administration for the slow-handed handling of the situation.

Chris Skates has a three-month-old grandson who has a stomach sensitivity and needs to have a special formula. He told DailyMail.com that the situation is “unacceptable.”

“FDA under Biden is beyond incompetent!” Skates added.

Biden has refused to take full responsibility for the poor handling of the formula shortage, claiming only mind readers could have predicted it despite the fact that his administration knew about the looming crisis for months after the shutdown of an Abbott Nutrition factory in Michigan following a recall and the death of two infants.

“I think we’re going to be in a matter of weeks or less getting significantly more formula on shelves,” Biden said last week. “And the FDA has also made sure we can import and still maintain the high safety standards.”

“The $4 billion U.S. baby formula market is dominated by domestic producers, with import options limited, subject to high tariffs and onerous safety rules that include labeling standards,” Daily Mail reported. “These longstanding rules have exacerbated the current crisis – and are central to officials’ efforts to ease the shortage.”

FDA Commissioner Dr. Robert Califf also said it would be a few “weeks” before the shortage crisis lets up as the agency works with manufacturers and on getting the products imported.

Califf noted some steps being taken and said the “agency intends to announce plans next week” on how importing formula will be handled.

But many are frustrated with the bureaucratic snail’s pace in responding to a crisis that does not have the luxury of time.

Angry parents like Lisa Marie from Alaska who posted a photo online of the empty shelves in at a Target store.

‘As the parent of a newborn, the baby formula supply issue was apparent three months ago,’ Rocky Fernandez tweeted Sunday. ‘A few sample canisters we were shipped for free were recalled, and when I first went to buy some it was already limited to five items per customer. Defense Production Act, IDGAF, fix it Biden.’

Many others also piled on Biden for his failure to timely handle the problem and after reports that pallets of baby formula were allegedly being sent to the southern U.S. border to help feed illegal immigrants.
