Time and again, leftists have demonstrated that anything short of total acquiescence to their demands is akin to complete opposition. As such, Hiltons across the country have become targets of their ire after reports that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are staying in the hotels, including at a New York City location, resulting in dozens of arrests Tuesday night.

Chants of “No ICE, No KKK, No Fascist USA” and “Kristi Noem will hang” referring to the Department of Homeland Security secretary were heard within the lobby and outside the Tribeca hotel on Tuesday as sign-waving radicals sporting matching “Hilton Houses ICE” t-shirts filled the space.

As had been the case in Minnesota, where local law enforcement was given approval to make arrests as protesters allegedly damaged property and threw objects at police, the New York City Police Department brought a bus to the Hilton Garden Inn to haul away dozens of protesters.

According to Fox News, the activist group Sunrise Movement had alerted protesters to the alleged presence of ICE officials in the hotel. The same group later celebrated as “Young people have taken over the Hilton in NYC, where ICE agents are staying.”

“We will not stand by while @HiltonHotels houses ICE in our city. As long as Hilton chooses to host fascists, we will disrupt their operations,” the group added before later reporting more than 65 protesters had been arrested, claiming, “Everyday people have the power to shut down ICE’s ability to operate. We are making it impossible for ICE to get a moment’s rest.”

Having himself expressed favor for the abolition of ICE, New York City Mayor Mamdani (D) has released a statement via spokesperson Sam Raskin that both lauds the hotel occupiers and attempts to hold the stance of supporting law and order with a compliment for the police.

“Mayor Mamdani commends the protestors who exercised their right to protest against ICE today,” the statement began. “As he has said, ICE is a rogue agency that has repeatedly carried out cruel, inhumane, and lawless raids, arrests, shootings, and even targeted American citizens. The Mayor is also pleased with the NYPD’s response to the protest and that today’s demonstration concluded without violence.”

“ICE,” Mamdani claimed in an interview with ABC News’ Jonathan Karl, “is an organization that cares little for the rules. It’s an organization that operates with reckless impunity and seems to revel in the flouting of those kinds of rules. And that’s what gives people a real sense of fear. ICE agents are masked. You oftentimes have no idea.”

Regarding the mayor’s response to the protest voicing support for the anti-ICE agitators, one simple response covered the sentiments of social media users, “Of course he did.”
