Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) is in hot water with her constituents after she shared on Instagram a video from New Zealand left-wing activist group, the Aotearoa Liberation League, claiming that inflation is “propaganda” that protects “greedy shareholders.”
“The propaganda around inflation and cost of living is so powerful that we forget the very basic fact that corporations set the prices for their products,” the activist states in the video.

The “concept” of inflation, the activist argues, is the “perfect example of vaguewashing, because it can be blamed on anything at all, except for corporate profits, of course.”
The New York Post asked AOC’s constituents in Queens and the southeastern part of the Bronx what they thought of the “concept” of inflation, and it appears they think Ocasio-Cortez may be “crazy.”
“Is AOC crazy?” asked Latisha Law, a 41-year-old certified nursing assistant, single mother of three, and grandmother. “Has she been to a grocery store recently? $1,000 ain’t nothing no more. $100 ain’t nothing no more. Maybe she should spend some time in the projects and really help people.”
And, while Ocasio-Cortez may love the spotlight, many of her constituents, Law included, don’t seem to know who she is.
“Law, like the majority of Bronx and Queens residents interviewed by The Post, did not really know much about Ocasio-Cortez,” the outlet reports. “Most asked who she was and could not really seem to identify her but all agreed that they are paying almost twice as much for the same amount of groceries and other essentials.”
“I’m working two jobs just to survive,” Law told The Post. “I kill myself just to feed my family. It’s much worse now than it was before the pandemic.”

Iris Vasquez, 61, blames soaring prices at the store on the government’s use of the pandemic.
“I think what the government did was take advantage of the pandemic,” she told The Post. “You can’t put this all on big companies. Prices went up high then and they’ve stayed high. I think it was just an excuse to make us spend more money.”
“I had to pay ten dollars for eggs at one point!” Vasquez added. “Sometimes I have to go all the way to the Food Bazaar near Yankee Stadium to get better prices but then I have to Uber back. I don’t think inflation has ever been this bad.”
Over on Fox News, mother of four Amber Bergeron slammed Ocasio-Cortez as “oblivious” to her constituents’ struggles.
“I’m just wondering how she thinks it’s propaganda,” Bergeron told “Fox and Friends First.”
“Has she checked her electric bill? Has she looked at the cost of groceries compared to last year?” she asked. “If you get on the Walmart app, she can take a look and see the difference.”
“I’m wondering what her budget is that that’s not something that she’s concerned about,” Bergeron stated. “It’s obviously not a worry in her household. It’s not something she’s having to worry about. But I’m wondering how people can be so oblivious.”
