AOC, leftists blow their stacks after Trump takes a flamethrower to CNN

Former President Donald J. Trump returned to CNN for the first time in years and mopped the floor with the self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news” and its smug moderator Kaitlan Collins at a New Hampshire town hall that had leftists screaming at the sky.

In the nationally televised event that likely drew a massive audience, the 2024 GOP frontrunner was in peak form, deftly swatting down trap questions, mocking nutty rape accuser E. Jean Carroll, defending his belief that the 2020 election was a sham and dancing circles around Collins who may have wished that she was anywhere other than on the stage at Saint Anselm College where Trump was repeatedly cheered by the audience.

To say that the network’s high-stakes gamble that they could damage Trump in front of a national audience blew up in their faces would be a huge understatement and the reaction from Democratic Party ideological thought leader Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) served as an exclamation point on just how much of a disaster the town hall was for CNN.

“CNN should be ashamed of themselves,” AOC raged. “They have lost total control of this ‘town hall’ to again be manipulated into platforming election disinformation, defenses of Jan 6th, and a public attack on a sexual abuse victim.”

“The audience is cheering him on and laughing at the host,” she added.

“This falls squarely on CNN. Everyone here saw exactly what was going to happen. Instead they put a sexual abuse victim in harm’s way for views. This was a choice to platform lies about the election & Jan 6th w/ no plan but to have their moderator interrupted without consequence,” the socialist diva who had called for CNN to cancel Trump’s scheduled appearance whined in another tweet.

The mouth that never shuts then took her town hall temper tantrum to CNN’s rival network, Democratic Party propaganda organ MSNBC where she continued her complaining about the former and possible future president, taking particular umbrage over his remarks about Carroll whose highly suspect rape allegation was rejected by a stacked New York City jury.

Ocasio-Cortez’s fellow left-wingers and their Never Trump allies flooded Twitter with their tears over the ambush gone awry and the monumental blunder of CNN giving Trump a national forum with an audience of likely Republican voters who cheered him on during the dismantling of Collins.

Joy Behar, the foghorn-voiced leader of the snakepit of shrieking harpy ignoramuses on ABC’s “The View” bemoaned CNN’s failure to rig the town hall by not stacking the audience.

“This would only have been a decent idea if the audience was not filled with lunatics like Trump himself. This is a disgrace. They think it’s funny when he mocks his trail of sexual abuse. They clap and cheer when he calls Nancy Pelosi names. He lies and lies and these people clap. What were they thinking over there at CNN?” Behar tweeted.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who has been talking smack about Trump for weeks as he teases a 2024 run, threw down the tiresome Putin puppet card.

“Donald Trump says he would end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours tonight on CNN. Despite how ridiculous that is to say, I suspect he would try to do it by turning Ukraine over to Putin and Russia. #Putin’sPuppet,” tweeted the overstuffed ABC News talking head.

“In less than an hour, they allowed an authoritarian wannabe to lie constantly while an audience full of his followers applauded. This was not a town hall, it was a rally,” griped the former president’s attention-craving niece Mary Trump, who for some inexplicable reason has been a fixture on cable news.

How bad was it for CNN? Leftist media types dished on the reactions from network insiders who relayed the information to them via Twitter.

“Immediate reaction from a CNN on-air personality to me just now on this Trump town hall: ‘It is so bad. I was cautiously optimistic despite the criticism. It is awful. It’s a Trump infomercial. We’re going to get crushed,'” dished Justin Baragona of the far-left website The Daily Beast.

Washington Post media reporter Jeremy Barr tweeted, “Rapid reaction from a CNN staffer: ‘A disaster, and totally predictable.'”

“Hope everyone enjoyed CNN tonight. The New Hampshire audience was AMAZING. Thank you!” Trump wrote on Truth Social after making mincemeat out of CNN and sending leftists into a fury.

In a statement to Mediaite, a CNN spokesperson said: “Tonight, Kaitlan Collins exemplified what it means to be a world-class journalist. She asked tough, fair and revealing questions. And she followed up and fact-checked President Trump in real time to arm voters with crucial information about his positions as he enters the 2024 election as the Republican frontrunner. That is CNN’s role and responsibility: to get answers and hold the powerful to account.”
