Beverly Hills teens try to guess what an average American earns, then shocked to learn the truth

Online content creator Jessica Palmadessa took to the privileged streets of Beverly Hills to ask teens how much they believed the average American earns, and the answers have many believing rich people “think the rest of us are rich.”

Palmadessa, who can often be seen on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, stopping people and asking them a variety of questions, asked several teens in California’s infamous 90210 zip code, “How much do you think the average American makes a year?”

“Like 200K?” replied one young girl, as her friend guessed “100K?”

“Okay, so the number is actually 56 thousand,” Palmadessa informed them.

Their looks of shock and horror, posted to Instagram, were priceless.

In a lengthier video of the same theme, one teen guesses, “half a million.” Another puts the average American salary at “maybe like, $400K, $450.”

Yet another teenager guessed, “$200,000 to $250,000.”

The least an American earns, according to the teenagers’ guesses, is “$90,000 to $100,000.”

According to the Daily Mail, which cites the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), “the average income for an American is $54,132.”

To be fair, in California, the average is higher, at $78,672, the outlet notes.

Since posting the video roughly two weeks ago, it has been viewed more than 1.4 million times, the Daily Mail notes. The responses, across social media platforms, have been swathed in snark.

“Rich people think the rest of us are rich,” wrote one YouTube user. “Lol How cute.”

“You need to let them know their outfits probably are more than what an average American family makes in a year lol,” stated another.

“I work two full-time jobs and don’t break even 90k a year,” a third remarked.

“I want to live in their world,” stated one TikTok user.

“I made $41k last year and it was the most money I’ve ever made in my life,” said another. “Lmfao.”

“I don’t think I even know anyone personally who makes over $150,000,” a third revealed.

Meanwhile, as BizPac Review has reported, “Bidenomics” is continuing to wreak havoc on the nation’s economy, despite the left’s desperate attempts at denials.

Senator John Kennedy (R-La.) isn’t falling for the gaslighting, telling Fox News viewers on Tuesday that he is “sorry that the American people are going through Bidenomics.”

“Bidenomics is pretty simple, it’s just bigger government, more spending, and the higher prices,” Kennedy said. “I’ve said this before, at least in Louisiana, inflation is gutting my people like a fish. My people are gettin’ really good at barely gettin’ by, and in America, you shouldn’t have to take an early distribution from your retirement account or sell blood plasma in order to go to the grocery store.”

“If there’s any good news, the rate of inflation has been falling. Now, what does that mean? That just means prices are still going up, but they’re not going up as quickly as they were,” the senator said. “I hate to say it, but these high prices, they are permanent. Even if inflation goes to zero tomorrow, we’re still going to be stuck with these higher prices, which are directly a result of President Biden’s economic policy.”
