President-elect Donald J. Trump offered to help pay off the staggering amount of debt racked up by Kamala Harris and Democrats on the way to getting their comeuppance in an electoral landslide
In a Saturday post to Truth Social that was either a gesture of unity or a wicked troll, the soon-to-be 47th president of the United States made the magnanimous gesture after it was reported that the Harris-Walz campaign not only burned through around a billion dollars but also ended up in the red to the tune of $20 million.

“I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn’t have lots of $’s left over. Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others. Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do. We have a lot of money left over in that our biggest asset in the campaign was ‘Earned Media,’ and that doesn’t cost very much. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump wrote.
The “earned media” that Trump referred to was the 24/7 coverage that he received from the mainstream media which was all-in for Harris and desperate to prevent him from returning to the White House.
In the end, CNN, the WaPo, the New York Times, NBC and others were Trump’s biggest asset with his name constantly in the news at a time when Team Kamala was burning through money like drunken sailors, with millions in ad buys and paying celebrities to appear with the candidate and at concerts.
Now that Democrats are demoralized and debt-ridden, it was move that some described as “beyond masterstroke” for Trump to offer his enemies a helping hand.
Oh man. This is beyond masterstroke stuff. https://t.co/I1XXESvse9

Donald Trump is offering to help pay for the debt the Harris campaign put themselves in for the sake of unity.
That’s a first, folks. I’ve never heard of an opponent doing that.

Trump’s offer comes after Democratic National Committee (DNC) official Lindy Li went on Fox News and described the Harris campaign as a “$1 billion disaster” in brutally frank terms.
DNC official Lindy Li called the Harris campaign a “$1 billion disaster” earlier today.
“The truth is this is just an end epic disaster, this is a $1 billion disaster…They’re $20 million or $18 million in debt. It’s incredible, and I raised millions of that. I have friends I… pic.twitter.com/EzTFtoKbpv

“The truth is this is just an epic disaster, this is a $1 billion disaster,” the DNC National Finance Committee member said during an appearance on on “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Saturday. “They’re $20 million or $18 million in debt. It’s incredible, and I raised millions of that. I have friends I have to be accountable to and explain what happened because I told them it was a margin-of-error race.”
“She even put videos out saying Harris would win,” Li added. “I believed her, my donors believed her, and so they wrote massive checks. I just feel like a lot of us were misled.”
The New York Post reported that the Harris campaign blew up to $20 million on election-eve concerts including Lady Gaga in Philly, Katy Perry in Pittsburgh, Jon Bon Jovi in Detroit, and Christina Aguilera in Las Vegas, money that couldn’t prevent Trump from sweeping all seven swing states.
“They had huge advance teams for these concerts, like 40-60 people in some cities,” an unnamed insider told the outlet, saying that they are “concerned about the financial impact on people who worked to elect Harris.”
“I’m sure vendors will start to get upset soon,” the source said.
