Biden heckled over newly discovered second batch of classified docs: ‘A regular Johnny Appleseed’

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld along with others on “The Five” panel Wednesday gleefully ripped President Biden over the ongoing discovery of new batches of classified documents that seem to be popping up everywhere as the White House spins itself into a tizzy over it.

A second batch of classified documents was reportedly found on Wednesday in a separate location from the first batch, which led to Gutfeld snarking, “What is it with the Bidens leaving important stuff everywhere?”

According to Fox News, “at least” one other trove of classified documents was found from Biden’s time serving as vice president in the Obama administration. That follows the first batch that was found at an office the president used at the Biden Penn Center in Washington, D.C. six years ago.

“You got Hunter just leaving stripper babies and laptops all over the place. [You] got the gun – Hallie leaving a gun in the trash can. You got the laptop. You got the diary. Ashley’s diary at a halfway house,” Gutfeld humorously noted, listing a number of scandals that have plagued the Biden family. “These are all really important things. Guns, diaries, laptops. Joe’s a regular Johnny Appleseed with classified information.”

On Tuesday, Biden sort of addressed the classified document debacle while speaking at the North American Leaders’ Summit in Mexico City. He intoned that he takes the discovery of the classified material seriously while he studiously looked down at a prepared script that he was evidently instructed to read from. He did so haltingly, making it even more apparent that the notes were not his own.

The president praised his attorneys and asserted they did the right and proper thing by immediately turning the documents over to the National Archives. But it is not clear who found the second batch or where they found it yet. And despite finding the first set of documents on November 2nd, just days before the midterm elections, Biden’s attorneys did not reveal them until this week. Not to mention the fact that those documents were sitting in that office for six years.

“They did what they should have done. They immediately called the [National Archives]… turned them over to the Archives, and I was briefed about this discovery and surprised to learn that there were any government records that were taken there to that office,” Biden claimed at the summit. “But I don’t know what’s in the documents. My lawyers have not suggested I ask what documents they were.”

Denying that he knew about the documents or what was contained in them may give the president plausible deniability but it won’t stop well-deserved mockery over the issue.

Gutfeld kidded that the latest revelations over classified documents were “the worst thing to happen since the Civil War.”

“It’s worse than 9/11. It’s worse than the Civil War and the Red Hot Chili Peppers combined,” he joked.

Co-host Jesse Watters also couldn’t resist hammering Biden over the documents.

“I do know that if right now we have ten documents and counting at the end of this, he could have more classified documents out there than Donald Trump had at Mar a Lago. I’m keeping a little tally here,” he smilingly jabbed.

“It’s funny that he was surprised to find that they had these documents in a closet. I’m sure he’s going to be surprised when he finds out the Chinese wired his family $6 million. If you read the story, it said they discovered at least one additional batch at least. So there’s more coming,” Watters pointed out.

He also wondered aloud about where the second batch of documents was found, intimating that the only place that makes sense was Biden’s “place in Georgetown.”

“You know, the place that Hunter got the key for him. And it was an office that he shared. There was a guy named Mr. Dong from China. Remember, Hunter was bringing strippers in there, [a] highly secured place where Hunter brought strippers to have sex with,” he contended.

“And how secure is this UPenn Center, in the middle of Georgetown? A hop, skip and a jump from the Chinese embassy. Did they have those, like, motion sensor laser beams that acrobats and James Bond movies have to tumble over into a closet? It’s next to a steakhouse, Judge Jeanine. I don’t think this place is Fort Knox. And why is he all of a sudden moving? Why is he cleaning out the UPenn Biden Center?” Watters asked.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley also weighed in on the documents that are surfacing.

“The ‘surprise’ factor seems to be expanding exponentially for the President. … You might want to find a chair . . . the forthcoming spin from the press and pundits could produce global vertigo,” he tweeted.

“…It remains frustrating that, after months, the public is still learning incomplete facts through selective leaks. That is made worse by a President who speaks as if he were a pure pedestrian — surprised by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of classified material,” Turley added.

The constitutional expert then noted Attorney General Merrick Garland’s “incomprehensible position.”

“At the same time, Garland has maintained an incomprehensible position in refusing to appoint a special counsel to investigate the Biden influence peddling controversy and other issues. He has done so despite clear evidence that the President had lied in denying any knowledge of his son’s foreign dealings and repeated references to the President getting a possible cut or benefits (including the Chinese-funded office) from the deals,” Turley wrote.

“Garland’s position now borders on the comical. He announced that he was compelled to appoint a special counsel on the Mar-a-Lago and other possible offenses by Trump after he officially became a candidate for the 2024 presidential election. At the time, some of us noted that Biden is actually the president but Garland was steadfastly refusing to make such an appointment,” he concluded.

And as all this is playing out, the White House is spinning the situation for all it is worth. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is feverishly conducting damage control, claiming that Biden didn’t know anything and is above reproach over the unfolding drama.

Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy was blunt at a White House press gaggle, asking, “How can President Biden be trusted moving forward with American secrets?”

“Because his lawyers, his team did the right thing,” Jean-Pierre insisted and she just kept reiterating that stance as if it excuses all of this.

She claimed that the president was “surprised” by the records being there. That is an argument that may not hold up as other documents come to light after the vicious attacks against former President Trump by the left.
