Biden hits 2nd Amendment supporters at MLK event: ‘You’ll need F-15s’ to take on the federal government

During the National Action Network’s Annual MLK Day Breakfast on Monday, President Joe Biden once again took a swipe at Second Amendment supporters, asserting that if they plan to take on the federal government they’ll need F-15s, not AR-15s.

He vowed to implement another assault weapons ban, which constitutionally is not feasible since Republicans now control the House of Representatives. If he does it by executive order, the Supreme Court is sure to weigh in on the issue.

“And I’ll say what I said then and I’ll say it over and over again: I am going to get assault weapons banned. I did it once, and I’m going to do it again,” Biden railed.

He went on to claim that so-called assault weapons serve no “social redeeming value.” His inciteful and deflective comments were made as Biden is embroiled in multiple scandals, the latest one being his mishandling of classified material.

“There’s no social redeeming value. Deer aren’t wearing Kevlar vests out there. What the hell do you need an assault – no, I’m serious. And ban the number of bullets that go in a magazine. There’s no — no need for any of that,” the president argued.

Amid the toothless bluster, the president attempted to mock his “rightwing friends,” of which he has very few if any.

“I love my rightwing friends who talk about the tree of liberty is watered with the blood of patriots,” he remarked. “If you need to worry about taking on the federal government, you need some F-15s. You don’t need an AR-15.”

Biden’s botched quote comes from Thomas Jefferson, who wrote a letter, stating, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants.” Jefferson notably was the primary author of the Declaration of Independence and was America’s third president. The quote is a warning that those in authority who abuse their power will eventually answer to Americans who will rise up against tyranny regardless of the cost.

“I’m serious. Think about it,” Biden sneered. “Think about the rationale for this. It’s about money — money, money, money.”

This is not the first time that Biden has back-handedly threatened those who might oppose the federal government. In June 2021, he commented, “You need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons” during a White House speech that outlined his plan to combat gun violence.

While bloviating during that speech, peppering it with threats that never came to fruition, he falsely asserted that there have always been limits placed on the Second Amendment.

“The Second Amendment, from the day it was passed, limited the type of people who could own a gun and what type of weapon you could own. You couldn’t buy a cannon,” he claimed, outright lying about the constitutional right to bear arms. “The point is that there has always been the ability to limit — rationally limit — the type of weapon that can be owned and who can own it.”

Federal gun regulation was first passed in 1934. Even then it was an unconstitutional move in the eyes of many Americans. Biden has been making false statements about the right to own guns in America for decades.

Twitter basically told Biden, “you can take it from my cold, dead hands” and imparted a history lesson:
