Biden sings Happy Birthday to Martin Luther King III’s wife and forgets her name in embarrassing flub

Self-awareness remains a lacking quality among the left and President Joe Biden demonstrated that with flying colors this Martin Luther King Jr. Day when, in the same speech he made a crack at “fiscally demented” Republicans, he botched singing a song even young children have mastered.

The president was in attendance at Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network’s annual King Day Breakfast on Monday at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C. and he wasted no time reminding the public why there is so much concern over his mental acuity. When it came time to speak, Biden addressed Martin Luther King III as he said, “we celebrate the legacy of your beloved mother and father,” before turning his attention to the honored guest’s wife, Arndrea Waters King.

After announcing her birthday to the crowd, the president said, “Well look, my wife has a rule in our family. When it’s somebody’s birthday you sing ‘Happy Birthday.'”

Perhaps instead of asking the crowd, “Are you ready?” the question should have been posed to himself as he then proceeded to offer his rendition, where instead of singing “Happy Birthday dear Arndrea,” Biden began another name entirely before tapering off and moving on, sounding something like “Vali-”

The embarrassing display was artfully removed from the official transcript as the record merely noted “(Sing ‘Happy Birthday.’)”

The gaffe itself was no surprise to the public who has grown accustomed to the feeble-minded displays from the commander-in-chief, with some going so far as to mock past excuses for the president’s failing mental capacity, like a supposed stutter.

However, Biden went ahead and made matters worse for himself when he decided to trot out his spiel about reducing the deficit, (an absurd claim unto itself following his administration’s previous year of record level ’emergency’ spending), with an added shot across the political aisle.

“You know the talk–they’re going to talk about ‘big-spendin’ Democrats’ again? Guess what? I reduced the deficit, last year, $350 billion,” Biden contended. “And this year, the federal deficit is down one trillion-plus dollars.”

“Hear me. That’s a fact. And there’s going to be hundreds of billions reduced over the next decade,” he argued before adding, “But so what, these guys…they’re fiscally, fiscally demented, I think.”

The effort to call out Republicans left RedState’s deputy managing editor Brandon Morse likening the president’s line to little more than an elementary school-level argument as he tweeted, “This is Biden’s ‘I am rubber, you are glue’ moment,” earning one response, “That’s a fact.”

Others followed up on the favored line of the president, which he used no less than four times in the Monday speech, and one Twitter user pointed out, “He should also be one of the last people to say ‘that’s a fact’ because this is easily refuted,” while more still couldn’t get over the absurdity of it all.
