Biden responds to ‘appalling’ attacks on Israel: ‘We stand ready to offer all appropriate means of support’

President Joe Biden responded to the “appalling” attacks on Israel by the militant Palestinian Sunni-Islamic fundamentalist group, Hamas, vowing that America’s support of Israel is “rock-solid.”

“This morning, I spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu about the horrific and ongoing attacks in Israel,” Biden said in an official statement from the White House. “The United States unequivocally condemns this appalling assault against Israel by Hamas terrorists from Gaza, and I made clear to Prime Minister Netanyahu that we stand ready to offer all appropriate means of support to the Government and people of Israel.”

“Terrorism is never justified. Israel has a right to defend itself and its people,” the president stated. “The United States warns against any other party hostile to Israel seeking advantage in this situation.  My Administration’s support for Israel’s security is rock solid and unwavering.”

“Jill and I are keeping in our prayers all of the families who have been hurt by this violence. We are heartbroken by the lives that have been tragically cut short and hope for a swift recovery for all those who have been wounded,” he added. “My team and I are tracking this situation closely, and I will remain in close touch with Prime Minister Netanyahu.”

Netanyahu’s office confirmed that Biden had been in touch with the Israeli prime minister.

“US President Joe Biden called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and emphasized that the US stands by Israel and fully supports Israel’s right to defend itself,” his office stated on X. “The Prime Minister thanked the US President for his unreserved support and made it clear that a prolonged and powerful campaign would be required in which Israel would win.”

The president’s remarks followed those made by former President Donald Trump who suggested that the Biden administration is to blame for the attacks.

“These Hamas attacks are a disgrace and Israel has every right to defend itself with overwhelming force,” Trump said in a statement. “Sadly, American taxpayer dollars helped fund these attacks, which many reports are saying came from the Biden Administration.”

“We brought so much peace to the Middle East through the Abraham Accords, only to see Biden whittle it away at a far more rapid pace than anyone thought possible,” he continued. “Here we go again.”

As BizPac Review reported, in September the Biden administration gave the thumbs up on the transfer of $6 billion in seized assets to Iran in exchange for the release of five American prisoners.

Foreign policy experts, lawmakers and others immediately voiced concerns that the infusion of cash could embolden Iran to act more aggressively.

On X, many are echoing those fears in response to President Biden’s statement on the current situation in Israel.

“Did you express how appalled you were that you sent billions of dollars to Iran?” one user demanded to know. “Asking for slaughtered Israelis who have brutally been murdered by that money you sent them.”

“You have so much blood on your hands,” the user told the president. “May god have mercy on your soul.”

Earlier on Saturday, Biden’s U.S. Office of Palestinian Affairs posted — then deleted — a statement that appeared to directly conflict with the president’s, suggesting that Israel shouldn’t retaliate.

“We unequivocally condemn the attack of Hamas terrorists and the loss of life that has incurred,” the office said. “We urge all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing.”

The post was deleted, but not before Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) blasted the “tweet,” calling it “disgraceful.”

“This is disgraceful and every single person involved in drafting and approving this tweet should be immediately expelled from the U.S. government,” Cruz fumed.
