President Joe Biden stirred up a hornet’s nest Tuesday by suggesting Israel is, by attacking Hamas, giving Hamas exactly what it wants.
“Hamas unleashed a terrorist attack because they fear nothing more than Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace. To continue down the path of terror, violence, killing, and war is to give Hamas what they seek. We can’t do that,” he tweeted early Tuesday evening.

To continue down the path of terror, violence, killing, and war is to give Hamas what they seek.
We can’t do that.

Note that he posted the tweet amid an ongoing ceasefire between Israel and Hamas — one that Hamas, not Israel, has repeatedly violated.
“Israeli forces in the northern Gaza Strip were targeted by three explosive devices in two separate incidents on Tuesday afternoon in violation of the ceasefire agreements between Israel and Hamas,” according to The Jerusalem Post.
“Additionally, shots were fired at Israeli forces in one of the incidents. Several soldiers were lightly wounded in the attacks and IDF soldiers responded by firing at the sources of gunfire. The IDF has stayed within the agreed-upon lines of the ceasefire, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stressed,” the Post reported Tuesday.
Over the last hour, 3 explosive devices were detonated adjacent to IDF troops in 2 different locations in northern Gaza, violating the framework of the operational pause.
In one of the locations, terrorists also opened fire at the troops, who responded with fire. A number of…

Considering that it’s Hamas that started this conflict, that now refuses to abide by the ceasefire deal, and that is dedicated to Israel’s elimination, a number of pro-Israel critics responded to the president’s tweet by chiding him.
“How long did it take your social media team to think of this one, Joe? Palestinians VOTED for Hamas,” one critic wrote, pointing out that the majority of Palestinians appear to support Hamas’ confirmed barbaric cruelty.

The only way this ends is for Israel to obliterate Hamas.

They fear nothing more than Jews living. Maybe you should stop giving them billions of dollars? Just a thought.

Sir – As you yourself have pointed out before, that is NOT the reason Hamas unleashed a terrorist attack.
Hamas attacked civilians in Israel because its stated goal is to kill Jews and destroy Israel.

What are you talking about?
Not only was Hamas elected but the most recent survey data show that Palestinians in both Gaza and the West Bank overwhelmingly approve of Operation Al Aqsa Flood and demand a Palestinian state from the river to the sea.

Mr president, 76% of Palestinians support Hamas. And 80-90% of them support it’s Military terror brigades.

The response from pro-Palestinian critics, on the other hand, was equally loud but vastly different, with critics excoriating the president for funding and tacitly defending Israel’s own alleged barbarity and cruelty.
“Israel doesn’t want a ceasefire because that would be to admit defeat against Palestine. They are desperate to continue their genocidal killing spree,” one confused critic wrote, projecting Hamas’ genocidal ambitions onto Israel.
“Who told you that Israel WANTED to live in Peace with the Palestinians? They lied. Israel wants the Palestinians to disappear and take all their land,” another critic added, again projecting Hamas’ intentions onto the Israelis.

“To continue down the path of terror, violence, killing, and war”…is a good description of Israel’s 75 year history.

Until you stop funding and arming the oppression of Palestine, there will be resistance, Hamas or no Hamas.
And you know that.

You’re supporting aggression toward the people that have no gun, no military,
Tax payers money should be used for peace keeping not genocide and ethnic cleaning.— Hamson (@Ahmadjr_77) November 28, 2023
Peace will not be achieved unless the land is returned to its owners (the Palestinians).
Hamas goes and another comes
This is a resistance that will not calm down until the Zionists return to where they came from— omalhawajer (@Manal_AMHHH) November 28, 2023
Is this the most cynical, clumsy and factually incorrect call for a #CeasefireNOW I’ve ever heard?
Stop funding Israel. Stop echoing a genocidal apartheid regime. Stop putting Israel on a pedestal. That’s not in America’s interest.
Just call for the ceasefire in #Gaza now!

All this comes as more and more pressure is being applied to Israel to stop defending itself from Hamas.
Thursday on CNN, for example, anchor Jake Tapper confronted former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett about all the alleged civilian deaths in Gaza.
“Is Netanyahu going to continue to ignore President Biden on this issue of civilian casualties?” he asked, referring to the type of tweet seen up top.
Bennett replied by arguing Israel is doing its best to reduce civilian casualties.
