Bidens announce family White House wedding this fall

There has been plenty of recent reporting about President Joe Biden’s family and little of it has been positive, as the dubious business dealing of son Hunter Biden and younger brother James Biden suggest the family has been exploiting their patriarch’s famous name for cash.

But on a different note — perhaps — the president’s 28-year-old granddaughter, Naomi Biden, announced that she and her fiancé, Peter Neal, will join in holy matrimony at the White House later this year.

“Peter and I are endlessly grateful to my Nana and Pop for the opportunity to celebrate our wedding at the White House,” Naomi tweeted on Monday afternoon. “We can’t wait to make our commitment to one another official and for what lies ahead.”

Naomi is the eldest daughter of the president’s son, Hunter, and she announced on Instagram in September that she was engaged:

The last White House wedding involving a member of the president’s family took place in 1994, when Hillary Clinton’s brother, Anthony Rodham, brother-in-law to President Clinton, married Nicole Boxer in the Rose Garden. Overall, there have only been 18 weddings at the Executive Mansion, according to the White House Historical Association.

Of course, with politics being politics, with the announcement being made on Twitter the naysayers had their say about the White House nuptials, as seen here:

Others rejoiced in the happy occasion:
