‘Board-certified pediatrician’ tells kids questioning gender identity that puberty blockers are reversible

Libs of TikTok put out a shocking video purportedly showing a Washington family doctor advising children that if they are confused about their gender, they can take puberty blockers and the effects are totally reversible, a claim that many contend is false.

This is a line that radical leftists and some in the medical community have been pushing for some time.

“Family doctor in Washington tells kids on tiktok that if they’re struggling with their gender identity, they can go on puberty blockers or hormones and it’s completely reversible,” Libs of TikTok tweeted.

“If you have concerns or questions about your gender identity, consider talking to your doctor. There are many things that we can do to help. First of all, there are reversible medications that we can give that can help stop puberty where it is and let you explore your gender a little bit further. And then there is hormone therapy which is giving you different hormones than are produced by your body. And then there are permanent changes that happen usually when you are a bit older, but those are gonna be surgical. So, talk to your doctor if you have any questions,” the physician advised.

The video is tagged as being from the “Ask Doctor T” TikTok account, which is operated by Tessa Commers who identifies herself as “a board-certified pediatrician” on her website. The account has 1.4 million followers and a plethora of similar videos directed at adolescents covering all sorts of issues, from puberty to first sexual experiences to gender dysphoria that have racked up 43.6 million “likes.”

Then there is an unnamed radical leftist who has evidently undergone some of these procedures. He went on an unfettered, hyped meltdown over the subject.

According to the Mayo Clinic, puberty blockers can have long-term effects on growth spurts, bone growth, bone density, and fertility.

In people assigned male at birth, GnRH analogues slow the growth of facial and body hair, prevent voice deepening, and limit the growth of the penis, scrotum and testicles,” the Mayo Clinic states. “In people assigned female at birth, this treatment limits or stops breast development and stops menstruation.”

Commentary on the Washington physician’s claim was off the charts.

Conservative commentator John Hawkins was blunt about it, “She is lying to troubled kids to convince them to permanently damage themselves. This is just as evil as child molestation and she belongs in prison for the rest of her life. One day, may she get what she deserves.”

Another Twitter user named Patricia Anthone tweeted, “These drugs ARE NOT proven ‘safe’ for use as a ‘pause button’ on natural maturation. Chemically disrupting the maturation of a child WILL come at a cost. And it won’t be borne by the doc, will it? It will be borne by the child. Sterilization, bone-density loss, permanent harm.”

She went on to also say, “Rather than affirming a child’s emerging identification with his or her OWN physical self, it’s better to CHEMICALLY DISRUPT the NATURAL process that results in the RESOLUTION of gender confusion most of the time, right “Doc”? Way to feed the perma-patient pipeline!”

Sweden, Finland, and the UK have stopped prescribing puberty blockers to children while their safety and effectiveness are being determined according to Binary. That follows the Cass Report in the UK that questioned the safety of such procedures.
