Byron Donalds throws down with CNN over Dem lectures on ‘threats to democracy’

U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) wasn’t having any of CNN’s gaslighting about the verdict that has confirmed that the once-vaunted U.S. system of justice is now on par with a banana republic.

Democrats crossed the Rubicon on Thursday with their conviction of former President Donald J. Trump in a Soviet-style show trial held in a New York City courtroom rife with corruption, including a jury that was plucked from an area that despises the defendant.

On Friday morning’s edition of “CNN News Central,” the Florida Republican threw down with host Kate Bolduan who, like her fellow CNN employees, insisted that Trump received a fair trial and that there are no double standards in the now politicized judicial system.

A common theme from Democrats and the media is protecting the integrity of the jury, which wasted little time in lynching Trump despite the vague charges, confusing instructions, and the concocted case by Soros-backed DA Alvin Bragg.

After some back and forth in which the congressman gave a legitimate reason to question the jurors and how they arrived at the verdict, Bolduan brought up the words of former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, one of the few Republicans with whom the media has an ongoing love affair.

According to Hogan, “Regardless of the result, I urge all Americans to respect the verdict and the legal process. At this dangerously divided moment in our history, all leaders—regardless of party—must not pour fuel on the fire with more toxic partisanship. We must reaffirm what has made this nation great: the rule of law,” total malarkey but consider the source.

Asked by Bolduan whether Hogan’s proclamation should be a “new litmus test” for Republicans, Donalds was struck by the stupidity of the question, throwing her litmus test back in the CNN host’s smug face.

“A litmus test? No,” he said. “The litmus test is not for Republicans, it’s for protecting our Constitution. It’s for actually protecting the institutions of our country. You know, I’m sick and tired too of being lectured to by Joe Biden and everybody on the radical left saying they’re trying to save democracy. No, you’re not.”

“Not when you twist the law into legal pretzels just to get a conviction. Not when you are constantly, voraciously investigating the same man over and over and over again simply because you don’t like his tweets, or you don’t like his manners or his mannerisms. This goes all the way back to 2015, 2016 when they were spying on his campaign. When the FISA process was abused to go after a political rival back then, and it’s never stopped,” Donalds said.

“So this is not about oh what the jury said, that is not true at all. This is about protecting our Constitution, protecting the institution of our government…,” he continued “Once you go down that line, you actually destroy America, and that’s where Joe Biden and the radical left are taking us, and it is disgraceful to see it happening in our country.”

“I’m sick & tired of being lectured-to by the Democrats about “threats to democracy,” Donalds wrote on X, sharing a clip of the CNN interview. “This all began during the 2016 election when Democrats abused FISA to go after their political rival & it’s NEVER STOPPED. We must protect our constitution, institutions, & fairness in justice.”
